PRX 35mm

Saw a video by “The Watch Regulator” on tiktok about the PRX 35mm not being worth it at all. He does give good takes a lot of the time but this watch has been hyped to hell with so many people loving it.

Anyone seen this? What’s your take?

I don’t care too much, I think for the price, it’s a very premium looking watch from a good brand. Plus that integrated bracelet is great and not really seen for the price.

I don’t own one as I don’t think it suited me so I don’t have hands on experience with the watch

I think everyone just wants a ~35mm watch and few are giving people what they want.

·

It’s a nice looking watch but not my style, I do like CW so for a watch of this style perhaps a 12 for me!

·

I own 35mm golden quartz and love it. May not be perfect fit for every day visually, but build quilty, feel on the hand, size and bracelet are outstanding.

It's all about the retro style. If you like the style, and/or remember the watches of that time, then you will really enjoy the watch. Nothing else about it is spectacular.

Mine gets quite a bit of use at semi-formal occasions, charity events, parties, or other obligatory nonsense.

I have a 35mm green dial quartz PRX. It's fantastic.

Not sure if I want the automatic at 2x the price.

I got my eyes on the gold quartz. I’ve never been into gold watches until I saw that one.

·

The fact that they suits people with skeletal wrist like me kinda makes it worth it, since half of the watches on the market was too much of a giant for us 😔

·

The guy claims it’s crap because the movement is actually made in China, but he never gives any proof of this 💁🏻‍♂️

Over Exaggerating Tiktok Wannabe Influencer.

"Mimimi not serviceable movement." - tell me another 600$ mechanical watch, where it's cheaper to service the movement, than to just drop in a new replacement movement?

Tissot Servicing Price for a 3 Hander -> 190CHF

Do i care if they service the movement, or just swap it out? Nope!

A Seiko NH35 Movement costs like 35$. Can you Service a NH35 for 35$? NO!

Also, i'd not buy a PRX. It's a Hype Watch.

·

No, I haven't seen it but I tried on a PRX and didn't care for it.

If he's worried about Chinese mag made movements in Swiss brands, he's in for a shock 😲.

He is very much aware of it, he was working for Swatch 😂

Then why is he so shocked?

100% agree. I feel like many people still make this argument, even our beloved Max in a recent video about a watch with the Powermatic 80. Often times, until you get to over $1K MSRP for a watch, it will probably be cheaper to swap out the movement than to do a full service.

Then why is he so shocked?

He was just expressing his opinion about the movement and how much it takes to produce the watch and complained about Tissot pricing it at $700.

So Tissot has 300 employees working in Switzerland and sells about 2-4 million watches a year, he was informing about how the PRX is made.

Wait, the PRX is $7,000? I assumed you meant $700. I personally consider that sightly over priced. I would prefer $500.

But I know as an MBA that marketing and other costs must also be added.

My absolute favourite! It’s a great alrounder and I love the sharp geometric style. It looks like great quality, too. 😁

·

I think the value prop is in the quartz for $375. Although if the waffle dial is key for you (which I don't blame you or anyone one bit), it still screams excellent value. Anyone with an eye for watches will be attracted by this piece on your wrist

I agree, I don’t suit the PRX but the twelve looks appealing, especially the blue face

I understand your pain with my 6.5 inch wrist 😅

Yeah, that and he claims they’re made to throw away… never heard that before

·

I actually went to Macy‘s today to try on a 35 mm PRX to see how I‘d feel about the size. It made me smile! I have such a small wrist and it looks great on me. I am planning to sell a few watches soon to get the MOP automatic.

That is a 35mm jewel. I'm not letting my little Seiko SNKK87 on my wrist see the laptop screen, she'll be incredibly jealous (she's like that).

No one or no thing has any business looking that good.

A good looking watch that you enjoy can make the obligatory nonsense seem not so much like nonsense.
