I see when I tap on the tag there's only one post and my progress has been reverted to zero. Definitely some technical glitch somewhere.
I really wish I could help you out on that. A good solution which may even prove cheaper is to have it 3D printed. You'll need to be skilled in CAD yourself or know someone who is or know the dimensions of the part. Maybe look for one on eBay and ask the seller for measurements if it proves to be too pricey.
Take care!
I love vintage gold plated watches. The plating was much thicker in those days (I've seen some as high as eighty microns) so they can be polished a little more than their modern counterparts. Imitation gold or gold plating/filling does wonders for us, as so many watches are gold plated these days that one can feel a lot more secure walking around with some solid gold pieces on wrist.
As with anything, none of us can claim to be completely pure and unprejudiced. I try and view all the watches objectively and with an open mind, but I don't always get it right. As someone who applies his watchmaking skill in service to friends, family and acquaintances, I see a lot of fashion watches come across my bench. Are they the last word in quality and value? Of course not. Does everyone care about movement specs and the like? No. The Miyota movements that most of them pack are reliable and no frills. Sure, I don't like people getting ripped off, but many buyers of fashion watches don't view it like that. For some folks, it's about aesthetics and brand name and I don't see anything wrong with that as a preference. The product isn't designed for us in the first place, which is why I don't waste my breath complaining about it. As enthusiasts, our definitions for "value" are much different to that of the regular consumer, meaning that many people will view a 200 USD Armani or Hugo Boss watch as "better" than a 200 or even 300 USD Citizen, for example. I hope what I'm saying made sense and didn't just come out as senseless yapping.
I don't like AliExpress watches myself purely for the often ridiculous names. There are one or two that stand out, but I doubt I'll ever pull the trigger. I don't want to, my money is better spent fixing up old vintage watches.
