That is exactly the same watch I won in Max ”Give Away” contest this week. It hasn’t arrived yet though. Great choise👍

·

I'm a huge fan of the Omega Seamaster 300 Heritage line. It's currently my top grail watch.

·

Yes! Lovely looking watches ⌚️ 👌 😍

·

I'm also a fan of the Omega Seamaster heritage (and the BB58), but have to make do with an $88 budget "heritage" diver for now...

Does a 62mas homage/reissue count? I actually just got an SPB143, and I'm hoping to take it out in the water for paddle boarding tomorrow!

Hi bro!
I absolutely live Longines legend diver!

I like the CW Super Compressor.

65 is a smashing choice 👌

I worn a dive watch every day from the time I was ten years old until I was in my twenties.  It had a ridged bezel and now I no longer like the large bezel watches.  With that said I would have to say my favorite Heritage diver is the JAQUET DROZ Super Compressor or a similar watch with an internal bezel.  I'll be out back decompressing.

I really wish Oris hadn't discontinued this dial. By far my fave Divers 65 model. Beautiful.

I really like the CW C65 super compressor, however I’m rather irked that they changed the dial from the company name to logo on the new watches.

For this particular model I am glad I have the original version.  I came to CW in about 2019 so the newer logo is all I ever knew.  It never bothered me.  I prefer it over the older C.Ward and other logos.  I like the new Twin Flags but with the Super Compressor it looks kind of odd.  It might be because we have both to compare.  The fact that they transitioned the dial over likely means the Super Compressor is here to stay in the line up for the time being.

EDIT to add:  There are pics of the SC with the new logo out in the wild and I have to say that the Twin Flags do not stand out as much in the flesh as they do in the renders.

This on the metal bracelet looks amazing 👏

It is a great watch and CW makes fantastic bracelets.  Quick release spring bars with a micro adjust that is great.  They now include half links which really brings them up a notch.  The new Aquitaine bracelet is even further improved with a more drastic taper to just over 16mm at the clasp, a longer micro adjust, and screw links instead of pins.  I think they are going to propagate these changes though the line but I am not 100% on this.

One nice small feature is the end links have SC engraved in them.  Not too useful for the Super Compressor as the end links are very unique but nice if you have a C65 and C60 both.  The bracelets are very similar.

I've read some good stuff about that Invicta 1953. Are you pleased with it?

Yes. I originally wanted the original black bezel #31290 model (going for a BB58 look), but the prices were $25-30 (30%) higher, so I went with the black/blue "batman" bezel version #34333 off Amazon. I love the gilt dial, the coin-edge bezel, and the brushed case shared with all versions of the 1953. The red "Automatic" on the dial and blue portion of the matte aluminum bezel in the Batman version adds some interesting "pop" to the overall vintage aesthetic. Because the NH35A movement is fairly thick (especially with a display caseback) and the mineral crystal is flat, it is unlikely that it will be mistaken for a vintage watch, so the pop of color makes the watch interesting... and despite being an homage to a Rolex (from 1953), it's not like wearing a Pro Diver 8926OB that is trying to be mistaken for a Rolex to the general public.

The gilt dial and handset are very legible (the un-lumed lollipop second hand is a bit mesmerizing) and the Seiko movement is keeping great time (about +2 spd if I store it 12-up overnight). The bezel action is very smooth and mine lines up, but I know others have had issues with alignment. The bracelet is an improvement over the 8926 in that it is fully brushed (without polished center links that look "blingy"), but it shares the rudimentary pressed clasp (but at least it has 4 micro-adjust holes). I've worn it with shorts and with a shirt and tie, and it has been great in both cases, so it seems to be a versatile watch. Getting any automatic watch with a hacking/hand-winding Seiko movement for <$100 is tough these days, so getting one in a watch that looks this good (without resorting to Ali Express) is fantastic.

You're spot on! Out of the initial 4 iterations of the 62MAS release this one stood out to me the most. It is said to have been discontinued abruptly coz it was taking away sales from the other 3 iterations since it also was the cheapest of the bunch. Coming only with a silicone strap in the box. 😊

Blimey! Many thanks for all the detail! It feels like a tailored review!

As someone newly afflicted I'm coming at watch purchases with few pre conceived ideas around brands and individual watches so I've been quite intrigued by invicta which often gets bad press and the 1953 which almost always gets the opposite.

I'm definitely a value for money bloke and this watch seems to offer that in spades. You have made up my mind and its going on my list...sooner rather than later as its so reasonably priced. Going to look at exactly the same model you are describing  thank you for the recommendation!
