Help Me Decide: Left or Right?

Went to the Omega AD. I’m considering the 300 in Perwinkle Blue, since it’s 41mm and has a tapering bracelet. My wife also loves it. Though I don’t like going over 40mm, and especially 41mm, the Seamaster on the right is absolutely beautiful. The ceramic wave dial, handset, and bracelet speak to me. Despite the width, it’s thin and comfortable.

Picking one in December of this year.

Unrelated gripe: I do not like that ADs / watch stores all have this "glitz" lighting. It makes everything look like it's made of rhinestones and makes me want watches less!

That’s what I’m leaning on. I just don’t understand why it’s $2k more than the standard Seamaster?

If I was to get both, I might as well drop the bag on a new Submariner without a date.

So you’re telling me there’s a chance

Had previous model for nearly 3 years, adore it.

Went for it rather than the Professional because it wasn't as glitzy and eye catching & glad I did.

Its understated enough that I've not been in a social situation where I've felt awkward , either up or down.

Right even with that bracelet lol

Wow, I didn't realize it was that big a difference! I have no idea why it would be that much more.

But Omega is better! Who needs Rolex?

But Omega is better! Who needs Rolex?

I don’t perceive one brand as better than the other. Rolex does some things better than Omega & vice versa. If I were forced to chose, I think Rolex comes out on top, but only slightly.

Right even with that bracelet lol

I find it odd a lot of pipe dislike the bracelet. I like the look, but despise it for not having a taper.

The Seamaster 300.

·

Left. The heritage 300 is a timeless design.

YES!

I'd buy the 300 but buy what you love

I have the second gen 300 in blue and it is a truly fantastic watch. Dress it up or down , nato, bracelet or mesh it just works. Also, its incredibly accurate. It’s the kind of watch that you can take on a 3 month trip and leave everything else in the safe. You can find them on the secondary market with full factory warranty for 4K USD.

I have a Professional 300 NTTD that I’m selling because it just can’t keep up with the versatility of the 300.

I have the 300 heritage. Love it. The heritage has the 8912 movement . Not sure what movement is in the 300M, but it is "lower" on the scratching post. My understanding is 8912 movement accounts for a portion of the price premium over the 300M.That said, I'm sure it is a fantastic just as capable movement.

SMP300 any day. Are you even buying a Seamaster if it doesn't have the iconic ceramic wave dial?

·

Right

When I made this decision 1.5 years ago I was dead set on the Seamaster Diver 300M because I had wanted one since 1996. I tried on the 300 Heritage "just because" and it was over. Even my girlfriend was like "that's more timeless, that's more you ". I was like "I know but it's more money and doesn't have a date". She asked me which one I could picture wearing the rest of my life and during any occasion. When I thought about it like that it had to be the Heritage. If you are thinking one and done it should be the Heritage.

Amusing, because my wife thought the same thing when seeing both at the AD. Like you, I always wanted the 007 Seamaster. Something about the 300 heritage that speaks to me. The bracelet, dial, case, and bezel are all beautiful

The lumed bezel numbers and the sandwich dial really add something special in person that don't show up in most photographs.

I own both ..that being said the 300 Heritage is the dressier of the options.. your choice. Both are excellent pieces to have in your collection. JMO Enjoy the hobby

I have the Seamaster 300 in black and love the watch, the bracelet is chunky so i've tried a couple of optiond including an Omega red and black Nato. I also have the 1957 reissue Seamaster 300. A world of difference in the bracelet. The heritage will be more comfortable to wear with that bracelet. Either one is a good choice, if you like changing straps to change the look and feel of the watch, I'd suggest the Seamaster 300.

Well, I purchased the Tudor Pelagos 39 instead. It fits my wrist better, and I saved a lot of cash. I’ll confident omega will release a smaller SMP with the trend for midsize watches. Thx for sharing
