commented onHow Owning Your Sex Appeal Can Keep You Safe From Rolex Rippers! And a belated Happy Birthday to me! (Who is this?)·
After a few months of hibernation from WC as well, this is the first post up on my feed and it makes me question why I leave 😂 y'all a bunch of freaks (in the best way) and I've never been more at home on a social media platform. Glad to hear you're back @DeeperBlue, happy belated birthday and hope all is going okay outside of the watch world 🙏
Couldn't be happier with it! I originally went to Windup with the intention of buying a C63 Sealander or maybe a Twelve, but the Strat-o-Timer wore much better than I expected based on the photos and specs online, and I made the mistake of only budgeting to bring home one of my options. Silly me 😅
Couple of features not mentioned online that I saw value in were a glide-lock style clasp and a hardness coating on the case/bracelet. I don't know if I just missed that info on the website or if it's specific to just the Dr. Pepper FYI.
Needless to say Jack Mason gained a big fan on this one 😁
I quite literally laughed out loud when it turned out that I was a part of the silent majority 😂 It's myself and one other close friend that are into watches and that's it in my normal interactions, and he's not in nearly as deep as me. So I confide in all you Crunchers to give his and my girlfriends ears a break haha. Like @JJMM1983 though I find solace in keeping to myself and my watches 😈

Recycled photo from #wruw a couple days ago, but my most obscure watch would be from Whitby Watch Co.
They are designed in Canada, and assembled in Germany using Swiss movements. I have seen only a few come up on wrists or for review since joining the watch community, but I think they deserve more spotlight for sure. I had to send mine back for replacement of the lume pip on the bezel and Roy was incredible to deal with! The customer service and communication was too notch.
My only complaint about this specific watch (The Intrepid, their very first model) is that it could be used to anchor cruise ships it's so heavy..
I think you hit the nail on the head. My experience not just in watches but in other hobbies and in life is that people find it easier and more comfortable to talk about themselves, whether that be from an egotistical perspective, lack of communication ability, or just plain don't care about what you have to say. At the risk of sounding like a boomer I feel that in this day and age as well, especially around my age group (late-20s and below), people are more conditioned to be the center of attention from social media, where the entire point is to "be a better version of yourself" as put by a former Social Media Manager colleague. I'm not a man of many words in person, and it's actually come in handy in some situations to keep the focus on the person I'm talking to and let them gush about themselves
