What are you wearing this weekend?

Enjoying my Saturday with shopping and sushi. And my Daytona.

Got the call from my AD Bucherer last year in April and be in love with it since. It’s a weird unsymmetrical watch… don’t know what they have drunken when they created the lugs and the off center subdials. But the lacquer white dial with the black subdial rings and the black bezel are a perfect contrast. Additionally it is so thin for an automatic chrono.

It was before and still is my grail!

That Daytona is awesome!!  If I ever had the chance to pick one up from an AD for MSRP I'd jump on it, but there are way too many more compelling choices available at current after market price points.

I do love chronographs, so today I'm sporting my Omega Speedmaster Racing.

My Omega Speedmaster Automatic Date- my first automatic piece... and sentimentally my favorite. Also a great fit at 38mm dial width.

Such a nice watch is further down my collecting path. Meanwhile I am enjoying a Longines from 1963.

Started the day with my G-Shock GWM5610 but once the workout was done I switched to this custom build I did. I made one blue dial and one black today was the black.

Today it’s my Vostok Sea Captain Amphibia (aka the “Zissou”). It’s by far the cheapest watch I own and is almost perplexing in how cheaply made it is. But for some reason I just love it. (Image failed to load!)

Actually wearing the 16750 GMT today.

After 38 years I still like it as much as the day I got it.(Image failed to load!)

Such a classic and beautiful piece! The history behind this watch will always make it a sought after piece, I am glad to see someone like yourself wearing it in good health. Cheers!

·

I got my Daytona before the hype and the massive price increase, it wears so well and goes with anything.

amazing! I have the "simple" dateless automatic in blue.

I love the two crown design, adds a certain uniqueness to the watch.

Sweet built. Love the hand choices. Particularly that yellow second hand.

·

This weekend I have no watch on. My left hand has some nerve (and possibly circulation) problems, so now and then I have to take the watch off and give it a few days to recover from the pain.

Before that I was wearing a titanium Citizen Eco Drive with sapphire crystal, and a three hand face with date. It's my daily beater for when I don't feel like wearing a nicer looking watch. (Woe is me, my "daily beater" is an attractive titanium watch.)

Actually sunday morning a friend wanted me to show him a few automatic watches I have, and he liked those, but he was much more intrigued by the Citizen and may buy one of those instead. He usually wears an Apple Watch but is looking to have something more attractive to wear for nicer occasions or for when he wants to take the Apple watch off to be away from work for a while.

With a Sub you can never go wrong, especially with the no date!

With a Sub you can never go wrong, especially with the no date!

I was corrected when I bought it by the pompous Rolex shop assistant, apparently the Rolex Submariner is just that, the one with the date is called The Rolex Submariner with date.

when you pay their prices you can call it what you want as far as I’m concerned but what I will say is that since new in 2014 it loses one second a day and no more.
