I hate numbers on the bezel !

There , I said it.

I think they're totally pointless.

Anyone else or am I on my own!

Depends? A field watch without numbers feels weird!

·

I like them as long as they serve a purpose and aren't ridiculously small

·

I mean, they aren't pointless. They have a purpose. It just depends on whether that purpose is useful to you. They definitely don't do anything your phone or a dive computer (for example) can't do.

There you go! 😄

I'll agree on the case of tachymeters. So tacky. Otherwise, are you including Roman numerals?

·

I find the bezels on my GMTs to be incredibly useful, so I will respectfully disagree.

·

Errrrrr. . . . . .

So don't get watches with numbers on the bezel then.

You're welcome!

·

Well, this went well…

There are plenty of watches without bezels, might one be persuaded to just buy those instead. Only you are the purveyor of your own taste, not us.

·

Number are vital to a dive watch.

If you don't like numbers on the bezel, don't buy dive watches. Or GMT's for that mater.

Does anybody really use tachymeters? To use them, you first have to have a set distance marked out. And the tachymeter needs to be set to that distance. Very inconvinient. I don't agree they are tacky, useless yes.

I think I've made comments in the back about how they make perfect sense for the conveyances of the time when such watches were relevant. Those being hot air balloons, locomotives, horseback, steamboats, penny-farthing bicycles... If anyone mentioned a modern use, I forgot it.

·

I generally feel the same, not the biggest fan of dive watches looks wise, but I’ve seen a few that are slightly starting to grow on me, because the functionality of the rotating bezel is kinda appealing to me.

·

A rotating bezel is useless without numbers 🤯😂😂

Ok...........

This and most designs from Unimatic over the past few years.

No numbers on a bezel excludes a lot of different watch complications (some chronos, most GMTs and divers).

But to each his own.

It is absolutely imperative that I have a tachymeter to time my mile splits on long interstate commutes. 😜

·

I was going to comment here but I just went in and looked at the collection and , it seems, I have a bunch of watches with numbers on the Bezel....I must like them LOL

·

I'm guessing that getting rid of useless numbers on a dive watch could be released as the "Stockton Rush - we don't need that shit" special edition? 😛

·

The Bund style bezels I think were originally requested by some German combat divers from Blancpain, who were experimenting with rebreather SCUBA systems that allowed for very long underwater times, hence no need for tracking elapsed minutes, only needing elapsed hours.

But outside of niche uses I can't think why a sterile rotating bezel would be functional?

I'm weeping with tears of joy.

·

I'm indifferent. If it's not a dive watch, a military watch, or a chronograph I don't miss them.

I've tried that with little success. Oops, missed that mile marker so gotta start over.
