I'm Thinking of jumping on board, but €700 from a new company of 3 random young guys from Germany , I'm not sure.

Has anyone else come across Rosenbusch.

The spec looks top notch.

Hi Pristocrat, so I just purchased the RBX I think it looks amazing. I believe that the quality is very good from what I can see on the reviews on YouTube and the pictures of course. If you think about the Sellita movement, there are brands selling the exact same movement without decoration for 4-5 times as much 😱 I think they offer very very good prices on Kickstarter with the 30% discount. So that’s just my opinion, and I have also bought a watch from them. I think they’re have a big potential with the value for money they’re offering. I was convinced after seeing the watch in some of the YouTube reviews. Maybe that’ll help you too. Watchchris did one just a few days ago which convinced me finally.

Ya but who are these 3 guys? What's their background and what's the company's history?

For all we know they could just be importing them from Vietnamnor China and reboxing in Germany. Now , I'm not saying that is what is happening but the background info is a bit lacking.

Well I actually have a friend who knows one of the founders. And he had the prototype watch in his hand and told me that it is very high quality. But yeah I get you, that’s just somebody saying that. You want to see and feel it for yourself but that’s obviously not possible with a start up micro brand that only sells online.

However, they say it is made in Germany and the movements come from Sellita. And as far as I know that means the watches have to be assembled and quality checked in Germany to be „made in Germany“ it is the same with basically all Swiss brands as well, they get the steel parts from china and assemble them in Switzerland. Only the movements are made in Switzerland just like with Rosenbusch actually. There are just a very very fire brands that produce there bracelets and cases themselves. The 316L steel that Rosenbusch uses is the same in Germany, Switzerland or china and the machinery that makes them is also the same. So I don’t see a problem as long as I can trust that the quality is good and they have been assembled by hand in Germany (which they have to, if they write it on the watch).

·

Also when I look into the campaign, the video and the pictures. They actually must have invested a lot to make it look like a high quality brand. That’s why I also trust that the watch won’t be trash 😂 and yeah we’ll also because my friend said it, whom I trust also… 😁

That's a fair point.

But don't you think they'd talk a bit more on the provenance of the company. There's no website, except a link to kickstarter, only mention of 3 guys ...by first name only.

One of the founders you speak of what's his background?

I am not sure actually who of them it is… but I can find out for your. but looking into the campaign page, none of them is a watchmaker or in the industry I guess. At least I think they would’ve said so if that was the case. They’re just very enthusiastic about watches they say. But also that is usually the case for micro brand start ups. When watchmakers start a brand they usually go a bit crazy (also with the prices 😅)

·

If you don’t trust them, think like that: Why would the take a high quality Swiss skeleton movement that for example norqain is selling (the exact same movement) for 3-4K and put it in a cheep Chinese case with a cheep and flimsy bracelet and yet tell everyone how quality is so important to them. It just doesn’t make sense to me.

·

Yes I totally agree with your above points.

Essentially I just wanted more info on the people before investing $700 , all we get is 3 first names and a guy on a fancy motorbike.

·

Yes I understand what you mean. They actually uploaded a video on Instagram yesterday. I haven’t seen it fully but maybe they will explain a little bit there…

·

Watched the video on Instagram.

What I get is that one of the guys designed it for his university degree then they decided to try and get it built externally from a supplier.

·

But that’s not at all what they’re saying though. Where did you get that university degree thing? They’re not talking about that at all 😅 they said, that they designed it because they wanted to. And obviously they cannot built it themselves like basically no micro brand does it. At least not below 5k I guess. So yes they need a suppliers that builds the parts. That’s what I get from the video.

He talks about where he got the design from here...

yeah it’s that video, I watched it too and they said that they’re obviously inspired by Genta which is needless to say but ok they say it and everybody can see it. But where does he say it was a project for university? The guy is an architect and they designed it in his drawing program. The other guy is a lawyer so non of them seems to be a student 😅

I’m quite tempted with the skeleton one especially as they have a 15% preorder discount available too. Again an integrated bracelet which I’m not a fan off however they do give a rubber strap too.
