I’ll suggest that the quartz crisis decimated the Swiss watch industry from networks of boutique producers to conglomerates that homogenized design in the shift to mass market selling. But what to I know? 🤷
At least I have managed to salvage a few modest mid-century examples with my rudimentary watchmaking skills.
