Expanding My G-Shock Horizons

After deciding I needed to get over my FrankenCasiOak debacle and give a legit Bluetooth G-Shock a chance (on its way now), I thought an entry-level G-Shock might be a nice addition to add variety to the collection. The OG DW-5600 is so plentiful Amazon offers same day delivery!

Amazon made a “suggestion” and I also picked up an elastic strap with case adapters. I made a quick choice of one with a gray chevron pattern. Upon arrival I discovered the chevrons were not woven into the strap but soft raised stripes woven above the strap surface.

Not what I was expecting, but a happy accident! It’s visually striking, adding a level of texture I’ve not seen before. It’s a unique and fun look that adds a bit of character over a plain flat strap.

I know the DW-5600 is old and basic but does help fill out my small set of digitals a bit.

I have two bluetooth G’s and they are fine. All the app and conection do is sync the time and help with you preferences in the watch setup. It is a good and frankly quicker alternative to multiband.

I first bought a DW-5600 and loved it so I decided I should get the GM-5000 figuring that it would be even better. Nope. The DW-5600 is where it’s at. Lightweight, great module, looks perfect. I even like the stock strap.
