Iโm finally taking a much needed beach holiday ๐ด๐น and I feel like making myself a little present. A fun, maybe colourful, diver. Iโm hesitating between the Serica 5303 and the Oris Diver Cotton Candy pink. Thoughts and experiences with either?
Hands down the Serica for me. ๐
Where are you headed?

Safe travels, brother. ๐
Which one do you see yourself wearing outside vacationing? But if you're fine with having "a nice weather watch" these are both excellent choices. The pink works with white, linnen and most summer wear and the serica is easier to wear and a bit more save. I say, go with the one you're more drawn to. That will be the one for you. ๐ช

I see pink ๐คฉ๐๐๐ (but yes outside of vacation, the Serica, thought most of my watches are โseriousโ, I think) Iโll probably wear the Oris in NY summers
Love the Oris.
The OEM pink strap isnโt that good. Not substantial enough for the weight of the watch. It sort of folds over the weight of the watch.
Get a nato or something else to put it on.

Thanks. I like that nato! Where is it from?

Guess you have your answer ๐ฅณ
That pink Oris is lit ๐, but I'd be mindful of where you'll be traveling to. In the case of Mexico, I would probably go with the Serica. Enjoy your vacations ๐
Serica.
The serica is so unique looking. I love their design.

I would probably bring a more discreet watch for streetwear ๐

The pink Oris is exceptionally beautiful

Donโt even โฆ the Seamaster white dial is somewhere on a list ๐
Oris, especially if you could find gently loved at discount. The bronze is fun. Pink will pop and is fun. Too much going on with the Serica and looks a hair cumbersome from pics.
Interesting choice between near-neutral and anything but. I think we all need a โfunโ watch in our collection, and the Oris surely fills the bill.
Both stunning, very nice and just the right amount of whimsical. Enjoy

Yes I realise itโs a starck choice ๐ though the Serica has some quirks (a bit less brazen than cotton candy)

I have my eye on a nicely discounted Oris indeed ๐ธ
I have the new blue Serica cosc, very happy with it. Bracelet and end links are super cool and unique, it also looks great on lighter leathers- I often wear it on a tan ostrich ๐. Itโs really versatile, feels dressy if your in the mood and also fun and light with that bright bracelet. Iโve had no issues with the movement or hacking or crown- I would imagine this was resolved with the new cosc spec, and maybe a contributing factor for why they made the change.
Thanks for the details! I think the Serica might be a later summer contender ๐
I think the Oris is bronze. That being the case, Iโd pick the Sรฉrica. Bronze patina nicely, but it looks awful when used on the beach. If my understanding is correct, patina is superficial, but saltwater patina goes deep and cannot be removed. I think some call it bronze disease.
Iโve had a bronze watch and itโs done ok. Mind you I rinse it off after each beach swim.

Iโm not sure what other watches you have but, if you feel โin the pink,โ pick it up.

Think thatโs the ticket, that pink and bronze is a banger of a piece.
I'd get the Serica but with the crown at 9pm (you can choose 3 or 9 o'clock crown option).
Seems the tally is 7๐ซ๐ท vs. 11๐ I think Barbie wins (possibly not a totally fair poll on my part ๐คญ)
Serica !! So I can vicariously live through you ๐
Of the two definitely the Serica. I would have thought the D65 would get much use after the holiday.
Definitely Serica.
The Oris is fun, no question, but Iโd reckon it can quickly become too much, or one would get tired of it, after wearing a couple of times.
The Serica, while quirky, in this colour combination itโs much more restraint and versatile. Yes you can wear it at the beach, maybe pairing it with a fun colorful nato. But throw it on a navy or dark chocolate leather strap and you can easily go into a boardroom with it.
So the Cotton Candy Oris won ๐๐ด
