Bulova Calibrator... external adjustment

Hey guys... Ive been always intrigued by this watch. It could be adjusted to run +/- fast from outside... "The world’s first automatic timepiece that gives you the power to fine-tune its accuracy, the Bulova Accu-Swiss Calibrator, featuring our proprietary External Fine Adjustment System (EFAS), lets you control the accuracy of your mechanical watch simply – and without the need for a technician"

The idea was something I would like to have in every watch.

Anyone has it? Or has a watch with similar characteristic?

What are your thoughts about it?

UPDATE: it seems that old king Seiko also had a screw to adjust it from outside

Wow, although it is a simple idea, I never seen any watch with this... complication? Good for regulating, but what about beat error?

Never heard of this before. Very intriguing

hmm seeing this calibrator on the dial every day seems a little bit useless, because how often do you regulate a watch? Why didn´t they put that on the back. If it´s regulated to + or - is an information that i never need. I think it sounds better than it would be in real life.

yes, only helps to solve one of the problems... but anyway that's better than nothing.

Totally agree that it should be on the back... but I like the idea to have an external way to regulate it...

Gimmick.

Sooooo...rather than calibrating the watch, the factory now wants me to do it?  They should just ship it unassembled and make me put it together.   I'm sure I could polish the case while I'm at it...

Very cool! I wonder how much different activities affects beat error, like if you’d learn to set it differently while playing golf vs. sitting around

Don't knock it until you've tried it!  I had a lot of fun building a watch thanks to @Max and DIY Watch Club:

I gave it to my father in law for his 70th birthday, and he's currently wearing it on an engineer bracelet.  From what I understand, he's very happy with it.

I think it's rather well done. It would also make a nice power reserve indicator. It adds interest to the dial, which I think would otherwise be rather dull. And yes, if you have an interesting complication, it's nice to have a reminder that it's there.

Never heard of this before, but think it's a neat idea. I agree with what others have said in terms of preferring it to be on the back of the watch.

Interesting looking watch
