New Islander Explorer/Ranger alternative

Which I did. :-) I could tell you some of my purchase rationalisation if you like. It's a strength of mine.
This one's limited to 500 pieces worldwide so act quickly if you'd like one. I'll post a review when I receive mine.

It's a tempting watch for sure. If I didn't have a plan for a fairly similar build I'd have got one too.

They said they had 300 to begin with with 200 coming later. Let us know what you decide to do.

Yikes. Not a fan of this one. Massive bezel, weird numerals, mis proportioned hands, odd chapter ring, silly logos, etc…
I saw the Gentrys video on this watch, and though I do like the guy and really like Mark the watch doesn't do much for me. I know he said that it was being developed when Tudor released their Ranger, but I wasn't a huge fan of that release either (and I'm a huge Tudor fanboy). It's a decent piece, but if I was going that cheap I'd rather just get a San Martin with a PT5000 or upgraded SW200. There's nothing wrong with Miyota movements, however I'm not a fan. If I was still beginning my watch collection there's a good chance I'd scoop this one up, but as of now I've progressed past this price point. Don't get me wrong I'll still buy at this price, but it would have to be something really unique for me to drop my coin on it.
At first I wasn't really that impressed, but as time has gone on I really like it. Even the odd numerals are starting to gel for me.

The Rangemaster isn't the one for me but I'll be interested to read your impressions and thought once you get it and spend some time with it.

It came! My Rangemaster arrived (finally) in yesterday's post. Honstly, I love living in NZ but being in the middle of nowhere sucks when it comes to shipping items here. I immediately took it off the bracelet and tried it on all of my 20mm NATO straps. This is definitely a strap monster. My initial impressions are that it's a good size, 10mm thickness is great, I love the dial and the design. I'll do a proper review when I've had it a while.
