Picked up a new watch for my son
My son's office has changed to casual attire for the summer and he has been wearing a dress quartz which I thought was too dressy for the summer casual attire. + I would like to interest him in automatics so my though was the Islander #ISL-82 (with a display back) & no date (I want it to be quick to set if he doesn't wear it every day & his dress watch doesn't have a date either.) I did change the strap as the OEM has yellow stitching which I think he might believe is a little too flashy - but I'm giving him both so he can swap them if he chooses.
I'm meeting him tomorrow for lunch -

Swap out to a black rubber strap and it can be a GADA watch. Most people who work in offices aren’t particular about watches nowadays.

Thanks - I've got a couple Islanders and that was my thinking... Hopefully it will be a good introduction (& its a relatively inexpensive way to find out if he will like automatics)

It is a perfect gateway drug...I mean brand. 🤣
I wanted to get him to try an automatic first. He has a couple quartz analog watches and he says he really likes the "grab and go" - but he's never had an automatic so I am hoping that receiving one as a gift, he will discover what I enjoy about automatics - then we can go shopping
