Vaer A5 Atlas Olive USA Auto

I've been interested in this watch since they released the olive color (a year ago? Maybe two?). I bought my (adult) son a Vaer 4 years ago and have been looking for the right one for myself. This is definitely it.

I feel the quality and finishing are excellent. I love the design.

California designed, assembled in the United States, 40mm x 10.4mm thick, Sapphire, screw down crown, Miyota 9015 (28,800 bph)

It's lookin' good on you! And that strap just works for it. Is that the one that came with it, or your own addition?

It's the strap it came with & they also included one of their silicone straps (also in khaki) that I have yet to try on yet. I was planning on putting it on a Chevron single pass from Crown & Buckle as that is my go to strap for summer & most of my field watches, but this nylon strap, that it came on, is very comfortable and & I really like the look so it will probably stay on that.

I really like Vaer watches. I have a quartz C5 and had a D5 that I sold because the crown was way too sharp for me. I wear my watches lower on my wrist and it would dig in to my skin causing an irritation. The C5 also has a sharp crown and I can feel it when I wear it but not as much as the D5.

I thought about buying the 40mm black dial version but when I looked at the pics of the crown and noticed the same sharp edges I quickly changed me mind. It’s a shame because I’d really like to own an American assembled automatic watch again.

Hey Austen - yep... I'm really pleased with it. If I didn't already have more divers than I needed, I would also have one of your D5s. That being said... I am even more tempted by the D5 Malibu & the Anacapa now that I have my Atlas.

That's a shame they don't work great for you. I don't have any issues but I assume I wear mine further from my hand than you do? I haven't noticed anything sharp on my A5 - it's a very comfortable fit for me.

Oooh love that one! Have a few Vaers and big fan. Was hoping they would do this one you have in a few other colors too

Very happy to read this post Tim! I personally have had our A7 Atlas Olive in my rotation since we launched it a few years ago (I have small wrists and prefer the 36mm sizing). Appreciate the support.

Thanks for checking in- I really appreciate the quality and attention to detail in your watches. I'm sure this won't be my last Vaer.

Interesting color and bonus points for matching date wheel.
