Quick question: Any experience / advice on Delugs?
Good morning! Anybody have any experience with Delugs? In particular, their crocodile leather straps?
Here's what I've experienced so far:
- Etsy crocodile leather straps from Vietnam - Nice and overall value is exceptional for $50, but it's mainly a value play
- Genteel Handmade alligator - Out of this world good. Can't imagine anything more supple and luxuriant. However, you're paying for it at $300
On their site, Delugs has crocodile straps for $135. Wondering if anybody has any experience with them, and if you're getting the same quality as something like Genteel Handmade, but at a lower price due to economies of scale.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

I wear an Ostrich leather strap on my SBGA413. I have it on there 90% of the time, occasionally I just want to wear the bracelet. The leather feels great and looks just like what you expect from seeing on the site. That being said, I have no experience with Genteel Handmade so I cannot compare.
Their customer service is also quick and helpful.

Besides, I've heard that ostriches are incredibly dangerous, ornery animals. And that the claws on their hind legs can easily eviscerate a human being. That being the case, I'm totally on board with turning one into my watch strap.

Delugs quality is... just OK. I happen to have many alligator straps - and do prefer other brands by a bit (I use a custom maker now) but they do cost a lot more than delugs. I would say if you like the look and CS of delugs, go with them - i have one of their watch zip boxes as well and love it!.

Got it. Thank you! I guess it's a case of you get what you pay for, yeah? To your point, the Genteel Handmade (custom) strap feels like the most luxurious thing I've ever touched in my life, but it's also quite expensive.

That's a bit disappointing to hear. I recently became aware of Delugs as an alternative for Cartier watches using their QuickSwitch system, and was hoping that their quality would be high enough to make them a viable option. Quality descried as "OK" isn't exactly a ringing endorsement 😀

I think I would get a band for my cartier ( i have the santos as well) from them - but not in a leather / color that cartier themself have.

i just recently bought the blue jean color ostrich leather strap for my IWC portofino and i must echo your sentiment. Excellent quality strap. Fit and finish is great, and the quick release springbars are a great addition. highly recommend them and i will def buy from them again.
