Here we are, Bremont's new brand direction: Terra Nova. Thoughts?

Interested to get a pulse on this from people on here. Fan's are you pleased? Non Bremont fans, have they done enough to get your attention?

I like them especially the big blocky numbers! I'm afraid to know the price though

·

how big are they? Many of their watches are too chunky in my opinion. These look OK, but don't particularly grab my attention.

·

Pretty bland if you ask me. What's the value proposition here really?

I think they're between £3,250 and £4k from what I saw.

Between 38mm and 40mm I think.

They look like the sort of thing a typical Kickstarter microbrand would put out.

·

They make me feel kind of like.. a lack of substance, they look okay, but meh.

·

Not personally a fan of the type used for the numerals, so probably out. And may just be a render issue, but the finish on the end link of the bracelet on the diver appears polished vs brushed like case which looks odd. I am sure there will be fans out there regardless - so happy for them at least.

·

Eh, still not for me. I like the brand in concept, but not in practice.

Agreed there. The Terra Nova non chrono one is the most appealing to me, I could maybe come around to that one. But it's definitely not blown me away.

I hear that.

Good question.

Yes, slightly underwhelming.

·

Definitely not a fan of that logo. So bland and generic.

Definitely underwhelming sadly.

Why did they change the logo? It was one of the few things I liked about the brand!

I quite liked the old logo too, but this rebrand seems to have been a sweeping change that's taken almost everything we came to know about Bremont away.

Fair points. The new direction is definitely divisive. For the most part among fans it doesn't seem to have landed very well at all. I think Bremont are hoping for a new crowd to form, sadly at the expense of their old fans I think.

Overall, I think they look solid. I would take a look at them if I saw them in store. However, I do feel they should have incorporated the Trip Tick case. That seems like a big miss to me.

·

They ask for a lot here. Dont know what to think. I like that they use 904 instesd of the usual. The design is fine, if a bit boring. At least not a copy of something. But then, they use sellita calibers at that price.

I’ve since seen a couple of shots on wrist, including a jet black new Supermarine. I must admit I was a little bit more hopeful after seeing those non promotional pics. But yes, it still stands that a lot of what was recognisable and we came to love about Bremont seems to be done away with. At least with this new collection.

I’ve always liked the designs and case designs of bremont. And the watchmaking owners are a charming pair they really are. But the marketing strategy has completely put me off this brand utterly. I’m not too fussed about the dishonesty over ‘in house’ movements which clearly weren’t.

It’s more the elitism of how they sell their products.

So I’ve never considered them too seriously and I’d always spend my money elsewhere.

Sorry if that offends anyone just my opinion

·

It’s been bugging me all day - where have I seen the new Bremont font?

Ooof not a fan

It’s got to be said, many aren’t very impressed.

·

Thought this was a new microbrand for a second

·

Not really doing anything for me personally but the bracelet is pretty cool looking

·

There are the kind of retro numerals that all the other brands seem to be moving away from. I didn’t care for Bremont before, now they have an ultra-bland compass rose logo like any number of outdoor clothing companies my interest is not increasing.

·

If you close your eyes a little bit you can see a black bay.

That's got to be a first! I'll admit though I don't have anything against the bracelet.

·

Love the 38mm time only tonneau case one.

Personally I think they're going in the right direction at last .

·

the logo is extremely generic;)
