Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
My ani/digi Timex broke and I dove down a rabbit hole for weeks to find a new watch. That led me to the Seiko SKX013 and the rabbit hole just kept getting deeper for the last 11 years.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Freestyle Shark Clip Watch and a Timex Ironman
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
My Seiko SNA090P (gold 36mm case, white dial, quartz chronograph) belonged to my great Uncle Eddy. He passed in the early 2000's and my great Aunt gave it to my dad, who forgot about it in the back of a drawer. I found it five years after that and a battery change got it running. I wear it to all of our family events and my family often spots it and lovingly calls it the 'Uncle Eddy'. The dial is beautiful and my one friend jokingly calls my 'Patek'.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Be patient. This hobby will wait for you. Read, take your time, and try things on when you can.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
I have been all about Scurfa in 2022 and have been having a lot of fun with the few Diver One's I have picked up.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
IWC Mark XII. I think the size is perfect and the design is both stoic and exciting. I could wear that every day. To top it off, the fact that a JLC caliber 889 is beating away inside just makes the watch that much more fun.
