Well, they are a thousand bucks. 😀Well, almost.

Great watch. I just got mine last week and it immediately went on the two-tone jubilee from Strapcode and I must confess that I can’t stop looking at it. 😀

I bought it from Strapcode. I also bought a Beads of Rice from them for my King Turtle. Such a nice-looking bracelet. It really elevates any watch.

Looks awesome on the Alpinist. Nicely done. 👍

·

Superb combo brother, well done!

·

I really need to buy one. I agree the Alpinist on a BoR is 🔥🔥🔥

·

Indeed.

·

Look who's talking.

Why are you targeting me? I was simply stating a fact. I own an Alpinist myself, bought at full price and I don't regret it.

·

How was that snide? I'm simply enjoying the watches and the banter.

·

they have the white dial. i believe limited version one. or the gmt

·

no fights boys. lets enjoy our timepieces

·

its just a way of saying. don’t take it too seriously

·

Yes, I am.

Unpopular opinion maybe but I don't see the modern Alpinist as being an Iconic watch. To me it's becoming a modern classic & is easily recognisable. But in the scheme of things there are many other Seiko watches that should be considered Iconic, the 6105-8110 Willard, the 62MAS, the SKX , the 6159-7010 Grandfather Tuna etc

With u on that. Skx is great

·

I didn't know this. To me, the cost is a very important part of the watch shopping process.

·

I like it. But I am thinking about the Seiko Pressage green cocktail on my buy list

Its a nice one but once you have it in your hand. Its still very different in terms of finishing, movement etc

·

The Alpinist is a watch that you become besotted with…….

·

I too experimented with the beads of rice on the alpanist

I agree i think its more of the alpanist line thats classic. But from the red alpanist on its a neo-vintage/modern classic

A bracelet really transforms the watch. I put mine on a Strapcode from LIW, and like the result.

A nice leather strap does wonders too for the Alpinist.

·

Yes that's what I meant to say, that they are Iconic. Maybe I didn't word it very well

Personally I’m not a massive fan of the Alpinist as I wish the compass crown could lock the compass bezel somehow, to stop it from accidentally moving during normal wearing. However that green and gilt dial with the two tone bracelet is an absolutely bloody stunning combination 😍. Fantastic.

Nice watch but the date magnifier is a turn off for me.
