The watch that started it all?

Like many out there my first watch was a Casio F91W, but I only know that because of old pictures. The first watch I genuinely wanted and truly began my love for watches was the CA53W. Got it as a birthday gift from an aunt when I was 9, I remember vividly going to the store and getting to pick it out myself. Little did I know that just like me the watch was born in 1988 and that I would forever be attached to it. The one pictured is not the original watch, but it's also just as valuable as it was a gift from my kids a few years back. I had stopped collecting watches for years, and this watch reignited that passion once again. I won't make that mistake again and plan to hold on to this one forever! What was your first watch or at least the one you can remember?😅

Patek Nautilus. I believe I was eight. My dad really wanted me to have a watch I could take to the pool with me so that I could make sure to get me and my sister home in time for supper. The aquanaut was too light. He wanted the heft to be a reminder to check the time and a reminder of the burden of time.

The staff really did not like us being late. They definitely could not tolerate us arriving after first course.

I'm pretty sure that my first watch was this watch, actually. I loved that watch. I think that I was in 4th grade, but possibly younger

Sigh...you never forget your first ::swoon::

Not sure the model number, but the first watch I specifically remember was just like this, a Casio calculator watch in about 1985, 8th grade I believe. Just remember that it was useless in math class because it chirped every time pushed a button, notifying the teacher.

I've always worn watches because this is what people from my generation did.

The oldest one that I have a documented evidence that it was a watch that I actually owned was a Casio F91W as an army reservist. The one in the photo is from the late 80's or early 90's.

It was later replaced with the AW-560, which was one of the very first Casio ana-digi G-Shock and it served me well until its strap disintegrated around 2003.

We thought we were slick but we know that calculator was only there to write silly words 🤣

I always make fun of my friend, who has a great collection of watches and say what do they use at the Olympics. Casio , it's simple jewelry or timepiece 🤔

·

Wish I'd kept mine
