Grail obtained...with some corners cut.

So some things to know about me before I talk about the watch. First off, I have been really into collecting for only 4 years. Second, as I have mentioned to some folks on here, I am a high school history teacher with a limited budget. Some may look at this and say, "really? That's one of your grails?" Yes, most of my grails are 3 figures. So with those factors now understood, one of my grail itches has been scratched and I am pumped!

For a few years now I have been in love with the Yema Superman collection. I love the design, the heritage, and where it's made ( I have strong french ancestry). I was not dismayed by the talks of qc issues and overall bad costumer services. I was willing to bite the bullet. I pulled the trigger. (Those are kinda dark idioms when put back to back like that).Anyways.

Now I would have loved the automatic but the quartz does plenty for less than half the price. I still have the style, the brand name, and the "France" on the dial. Plus I won't have to worry about potential problems and expencises with owning a in-house movement. I am super happy with it. This is really my first big buy and my first watch that I have been in love with since I first got into this, now being on my wrist. It is a little surreal but I am not complaining!

It's really something when you spend time thinking about a watch and then finally get it.  Happy for you, enjoy that feeling.

doesnt matter what people think. and for me its a cool watch, i love yema rallygraph too

This is the kind of grail achievement story I like hearing about and can relate to much more. Dude who has the money to get anything and flexes about Daytona purchase via schmoozing with AD does little for me.

Congrats on a great looking watch, if I saw you on the street I'd look at your wrist and give you "the nod".

Congratulations! Looks great! 🤩

The nod means everything! I appreciate you

Con-grats!  I think you already have discovered the fact that collecting is in fact you doing you.  Enjoy the honeymoon with your new acquisition!

Congrats on the new watch! I really dig Yema's design in general, they're definitel on the list of contenders for splurge watch for me. Quartz is great imo. Also ludicrous amount of great watches 3 figures and under.

Beautiful watch! Congratulations! Getting  the watch that you’ve  been waiting to pull the trigger on is always a rush.  wear it in good health!

That's freaking awesome 💪 I love that you took a chance even though there were rumblings about Yema. Hear-say is just useful input but should not dictate you choices.

And Quartz is great!! I just finnished my 4-watch collecting if all goes well. 3 out of 4 are quartz ☺️ Not because I can't afford mechanical or don't know any better, but because that is what I wanted and it's practical and low maintenance.

Congratulations!! Hope you'll enjoy your watch for years to come.

This is how I approach it. Does the watch I am wearing sparks a joy? Do I feel happy every time I look at it? The grail watch with a back story to share is worth more than the brand itself. I appreciate you sharing your experience and I hope it brings you happiness every time you look at it. Cheers
