GS9 Singapore
Had the pleasure to attend the opening of Singapore’s first Grand Seiko outlet. And they brought out the big guns
It is stunning in person. But does not translate well on pictures, or on my wrist. Fortunately for me
They were crazy pieces like these
But the one that took my breath away, and almost my credit card
Fantastic size, height and weight to this. The only con I can think of is the shine of the leather strap. The finishing under loupe was mind-blowing; The perfection of the hand painted indices and brand name was out of this world.
Of course there were its brothers
And new blue enamel over white was BEAUTIFUL… just not as classical as the Rose gold one
There were the new releases, and even the online only Green Birch on display, but did not want to seem like a prude wanting to try everything and just collecting pictures. As the AD’s were plenty nice flogging their mega pieces for everyone to molest 😂

I already have my heart set on these...
... but, every year they come out with like 80+ new amazing releases. So, if like in 2022, they come out with some new set of amazing watches, they'll be super rare and hard to get, and I'll have to wait all year... and then it'll be 2024 before I can get my hands on one... and by then, Watches & Wonders 2024 will come around, and they'll have a bunch of new awesome releases, and I'll forget all about the watches I originally wanted. And then cycle begins all over again. Meaning I never end up buying any GS watches!

I saw and compared both the mist flake and the green gmt yesterday and I’d take the green one for looks, and the mist flake for wearability! No pics unfortunately, i was enjoying the free flow sake a lil too much….

Okay. But, now, I'm definitely waiting till after Watches & Wonders to decide which GS to be obsessed with next!

Dang et!! I shouldn’t have clicked this post!! Now I have to salivate all over those Credors 🤤 and I was sooo close on the Green GS @HotWatchChick69 was thinking of getting … it’s still in my Cart in Sakura ready to ship along side a Casio Gshock to show my wife what I bought instead of the GMt 😂…
This grey skeletonized GS is an incredible Kodo Constant-Force Tourbillon which is rare complication I think. Lucky you go try it out :)

From what I gather, you’d still be able to check it out as those are in-stock items ie ready to purchase items 😏😏😏
They have a secret door in the shop that leads to these mega pieces, so you actually have to ask to see them. Lookout for a guy named Ryan, He’s a great!

They could but the competition will close down again, just like in the past 😂
You could say the same about any swiss watch maker, no? Rolex’s arrogance to not make watches available for sale. Or questionable QC in Tudor. Or Omega’s strange non-tapering bracelets (besides the 3861 speedie)
The motive of GS is to sell watches and its innovations that come with it, not bracelets. this is widely known and the ADs that I’ve spoken to confirms this.
And i think its a bad idea to create a watch to compete w a Sub when Seiko have their own dive watch heritage. Lets leave the homages to Tudor/Steinhart cus i dont think GS will ever regress to that level 😀

Not just making a tourbillon but making it constant force. That's insane! It's like everyone trying to figure out if the new kid can sink a basketball shot, only to find out he can shoot from half court and dunk at the same time
