I purchased my first 'real' watch back in 1974 it is a Rolex DateJust in gold and stainless. I still own that watch but I really got the watch bug about ten years ago .Fun Hobby
Update..We discovered that my movers decided they needed my 1978 Date/just ..Sadly it was a couple of months before we discovered it. I sold most of my Rolex pieces but my AD said she would get me another Date/just if i wanted to replace it..So..instead of it being 2400usd like last time now it is 14000usd...But heck I ordered it anyway. Ill post when it shows up..

Wow...I get it. The "Luxury experience" you mention..that doesnt seem to work for me. My AD just sends them to me..LOL As far as "making it" I truly do not believe that 99% of the people on the street dont give a hoot what watch we are wearing.. I do it for myself..Buy what you like and enjoy the hobby..JMO
It is one of my favorites. Check the secondary market should find one arounf 4k..JMO enjoy the hobby
