I purchased my first 'real' watch back in 1974 it is a Rolex DateJust in gold and stainless. I still own that watch but I really got the watch bug about ten years ago .Fun Hobby
Update..We discovered that my movers decided they needed my 1978 Date/just ..Sadly it was a couple of months before we discovered it. I sold most of my Rolex pieces but my AD said she would get me another Date/just if i wanted to replace it..So..instead of it being 2400usd like last time now it is 14000usd...But heck I ordered it anyway. Ill post when it shows up..
By total accident!! I purchased a Seiko when I was in Vietnam in the 60's and statred after I got home. Purchased my date/just in stainless and gold in the 70's and that started it..
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
It was a Seiko
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
not really
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
instead of seeing how many watches you can collect focus on what you really want in the end..
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Well, I have sold off all of my Rolex pieces except two and I am selling down to ten or fifteen pieces. I have a mixed collection with Omega, IWC, Tudor, Panerai, Chopard, Carl F Bucherer, JLC. Also a few vintage pieces including pocket watches.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
That is a tough question. In that I keep buying my grail watch then selling because i get interested in something else.
