Help & Advice: After Resizing Bracelet, Pillow that came with AW is very tight, will this cause damage?

I have a relatively small wrist 16.5 cm. On the bracelet it goes around the watch pillow in the AW box very snug, can that damage the bracelet, clasp. or watch?

I don’t think so, you should be fine.

We have similar wrists, and some of my bracelets tend to “crush” pillows. If you can snap the clasp, then there is enough give in the pillow. I mean don’t manhandle it tho.

Also assuming your pillows aren’t made of some funky material 🤪

Same wrist size my friend, and I have a couple tight pillows, but by all accounts it should be okay. The pillow will eventually give.

·

Theoretically, too tight on the cushion could bend the bracelet pins, or the spring bars or depending on the strength of the spring bars at the watch or bracelet enlarge the holes in the lugs or in the bracelet.

But, you'd have to get it so tight you'd need a crowbar to close the clasp for that to be close to happening.

You can also buy some soft pillows like this too

Or pelican case foam.

I have the same wrist size and issues. As anecdotal evidence, I have one on a cushion for 14 years. The cushion deformed over time (which is fine) but the watch is still good. I would rather a snug fit than a loose one that rattles around when I move the whole box.

I just get the jewelry pillows that you can stuff cotton in

My $0.02 :

Buy some softer pillows, or buy your own good quality foam to cut up. I dislike the pillow style that's in your pic, they don't accommodate small wristed watches very well and have very little 'give' to them.

My last little amazon 5 watch carrier is way to beefy for my 15cm wrist size. Being foam, I just cut them down strategically to be a better size.

Personally, I don't like to put bands and bracelets under constant stress (a seiko diver on metal should be fine with tension, but wouldn't do to most other of my watches)

Here is top of a foam pillow

And I’ve cut away ‘band side’ of the pillow with a hobby blade to reduce the total circumference to just a little more than 15cm

And for little pillows - rotate them sideways to get the narrower circumference

That's a really cool dial on your Seiko!

I have the same issue but multiplied x2. A common case with common pillows doesn’t fit my watches because they’re too big. I have a 6.2” wrist.

I had a cheap box with foam pillows first. Then bought a watch roll. And, when I got more watches than the size of the roll, I wanted a box to fit them but with pillows adapted for my small wrists: this was the solution.

Thanks! It's beautiful, I've never seen this Alpinist version before. Very cool.

I bought smaller pillows on AliExpress to replace the one the came with the box. Curse of having a small wrist.

·

I have the same exact problem, because of small wrist the pillow gets quenched. That's a part of reason I gravitate more towards straps rather than bracelet.

Do you have any suggestion for which brand to buy for a watch box and a traval case/bag? I am located in Italy.
