Purchased two grand seiko so far,I say so far because I have a list,my first was from AD watchbox USA,second from Japanese seller on ebay,when registering to the GS9 club it only had uk ADs listed so computer and nice man who emailed me back said NO 😢not allowed,I have to buy in the UK find this very strange,especially me being one of there biggest fans I'd of put there badges all over me wrote everything with there pens and carried all my belongings in there paper bag 😂missed out not letting me in I'd of been a living advertisement,so my club admission is going to be a high price was planning vintage gs,looks like I'm getting a watch to join the club 🙃two not enough gs should have got let in for my enthusiasm and brand loyalty alone.😬😂

Is Watchbox an AD? I always thought Watchbox was strictly a pre-owned dealer, I know they had a merge with an AD recently, but I'm not sure on the technicals. I think for the GS9 club, they are really strict on purchasing new from AD.
It does suck though, I can totally understand. I tried joining an Oris Social Club on Facebook, but my application got rejected 😢.

Cheeky oris,I'm sure I've heard on one there shows they were ad for gs,wouldn't matter either way has to be in the UK,good job I didn't buy the watch to get in the club 😂

I get their strategy, there are way better markets than Poland. We have only 1 AD here. But still it would be nice to have the Club.

You get invited to events,find out about new releases,get sent little gifts,if you type in the search on here few crunchers are members and have been to events,I love seiko and GS so would be nice don't know if I'm willing to buy a watch from an ad to join though I'm an ebay man 🤣mostly.

It would be nice to be part of the GS9 club, but it’s not worth paying more to purchase the same SBGA413 from a US AD when I can purchase the same SBGA443 from Japan at 25% off…

Yeah unfortunately it seems this is the way all brands are going. They dont care if you own watches from them, they want you to have bought it from your "local" boutique now...GS is no exception. Even in Japan, if you didnt buy your GS from a AD/Boutique on their list, you cannot join the GS9 club in Japan. And being in the GS9 in Japan does not mean you're in for UK or US. I find this so shortsighted in many ways, why not just have 1 GS9 for the entire world instead of regionally locked.

next time there is a GS9 meeting, you are invited to Tokyo. I bought mine in Osaka.

The fact that owning a Grand Seiko isn't enough to join a Grand Seiko club rubs me the wrong way. It's not really about enthusiasm for the watches then, is it?

Totally agree my friend,would do a lot more for there business this way in the future,rather than short term people buying just to get in the club,can't imagine it's that beneficial for them,rather than locking long standing customers out,business is business thought I suppose always has to be some form of negative around making money.

Me too my friend,if it was any other brand other than seiko,I wouldn't care but these are the brands I've based my hobby around at least 80% anyway,and no it's just an insensitive for people to buy there watches I get it,just not nice when you have an you find you can't join because it was the wrong country 😂

I live in Taiwan and though there is a GS9 club here. There are barely any events in Taiwan so it's not really a club in my opinion

Sorry to hear that my friend,not really sure how it works here in the UK,I might want to join something totally pointless 🙄😂think most the gs9 posts on here from events that look worthy of attending are in the USA,hope they put some events your way 👌
