Do you have a size range you stay within?

Times are a-changing.

I, like many of you have went through some requirement changes when it comes to watch case size.

My question for you Crunchers is...

What is your wrist size?

What is your case size range?

Size: 6.5 in

Range: 34mm - 40mm

I do have an SKX, but I never really wear it.

From 29mm x 42mm

Up to approx 48mm

100% depends on the watch.

Sweet spot is probably 34mm to 40mm.

·

7 inches

rotating bezel: 39mm-41mm (40mm diver is perfect)

field/gada: 36mm-39mm (37.5mm is sweet spot)

dress: 35mm-37mm (strongly prefer classic dimensions)

·

8+ inches.

34mm to 44mm in my collection. Happy to wear the 34mm but avoid the 44mm TBH.

·

Same like yours. I do have 2-41mm. The lug to lug lengths are around 48mm so they fit well on the wrist.

Wrist Size: 6.25"

In the box: 35mm, 38mm, 40, and 41mm. I also have 2-GShocks (a Casioak and a 5600 square) also, but I don't remember their sizes.

·

I think for me, it’s more the lug to lug than case size.

Example.

The Casio Duro seems like a huge watch according to the case size…44mm.

However, the lug to lug is just 48mm.

Most 44mm are over 50mm and that would look huge on my 6.25inch wrist 😭.

It’s a great question though!

·

I think I stick to watches under 38mm, but I think the only exception is g-shocks, they’re kinda meant to look huge and bulky anyway, most things look big on a 6.5 inch wrist 🤷🏻‍♂️

·

6.5 in

Range: 36mm - 40mm (38mm is the perfect size for me)

·

7.6 inch wrist.

Minimum 36mm, for dress, gold, or vintage watches

Best is 40mm all around.

Maximum 44mm, for dive or multi-complication watches

Sledgehammer on your wrist. 34mm on mine would look like a pimple lol

·

I have a large wrist, so for me it 39mm and up

·

37-43. 7.3" wrist

·

Size: 8-1/2 to 8-5/8

Range: 41mm to 48mm. A few years ago I learned that I can wear a 40mm if some other proportions are right for me.*

* I was given an inoperative Swiss Army field watch by the husband of a relative-in-law. He is distinctly flashy. His collection consists mainly of large Invictas, a few Rockwell's, and other similar watches. Needles to say, the Swiss Army sat unworn and unloved in his drawer. It turned out that it just needed a battery. It has a 40mm case but a 50mm lug to lug. Also, it has a very narrow bezel so the dial is large. After placing it on a strap that fits me I discovered that it wears fine on my wrist.

38 to 42 maybe up to 44 depending on the watch

Bwahahahaha 😝

7" wrist....36 to 42, with 42 being BARELY wearable for me. I prefer around 39 or 40 in general. I'm Jonesing for a 36mm Explorer though!

The trend toward oversized watches seems to be dying, thank GAWD!

Wrist Size: ~6.5 in.

Range: 36mm-46mm

"Ideal" Range: 37mm-39mm

I feel like case diameters alone aren't enough to really indicate how a watch will wear on your wrist. And as mentioned times are changing a few years ago, I probably would have said 40mm-42mm was ideal. But I'm beginning to enjoy sub 40mm watches more and more. Now I prefer to read 37-39mm on the spec sheets. Currently the smallest watch I have is 36mm. Of course some of the divers and chronos I own are in the 41mm-43mm range and I feel they wear just fine. And of course there are G-Shock's, my Seiko Arnie, my Lunar Pilot which are all beasts but I love them just the same and I don't think they look comically large IMO. I have bought G-Shocks that I felt were too big and decided to sell or have my brother who's blessed with a bigger wrist inherit. So a lot depends on the style of watch. I feel lug to lug length and the lug taper design is possibly more important than case diameter on how a watch looks on wrist.

Indeed - so many factors contribute to how a watch wears. 👍

·

I have a 6.8 inch wrist. The smallest watch in my collection is 35mm in diameter and the largest is about 45mm. I guess I'll wear anything within that range if I like it enough and think it looks okay on my wrist.

Cool Timex 👌

·

In general I tend to have different case size ranges depending on the watch type, though I try to keep the lug tip to lug tip at or under 50mm, except for G-Shock models.

Wrist size: ~7 inch

Case size(s):

31mm - 39mm (Dress watches)

36mm - 42mm (Field watches)

38mm - 45mm (Dive watches)

·

40 mm with 47 lug to lug is my threshold.
