Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
It started with getting a Rolex watch for my wife. She was lucky to get one during the whole Rolex hype. I started to research and learn about watches and never stopped since.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
My first serious watch was a seiko, it belonged to my grandfather. A real vintage piece with riveted bracelets, automatic movement, etc. it’s case shape is also rectangular which was uncommon based on what a watchmaker shared.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
Every watch is a milestone watch or memory. The most memorable watch with a story at the moment would be my Submariner 14060. I got this as a reward as I had manage to pass this hurdle. So for those out there trying to get your other half to quit a bad habit. Maybe you can incentivize them with a watch 🤪
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Don’t rush into it like me. I’ve regretted purchasing some pieces which cost alot more than they should. Also if the mistake is made, just learn from it.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Rolex and only Rolex, I’m a Rolex Fan Boy.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
The GMT MASTER PEPSI - 16700. This watch fits into my collection nicely by covering a watch with a GMT function. Its also the last of the GMT MASTER and the first of all sapphire glass GMT MASTER. All the watches in my collection points towards sapphire glass that have vintage feels but we don’t have to worry about tritium falling out or plexiglass scratching.
