Twice declined! Rolex Explorer 36

Having declined the Rolex Explorer 36 from Watches of Switzerland a few months ago - today they were back again!

I wrestled with the choice in my mind again. But since I made the initial request, I bought a Neo vintage ref - and I guess it’s scratched the itch for me.

What I really want is a green OP 36. I did actually go in to WoS a couple of weeks ago to change my request - but “computer said no” - I was told I could only do this through my advisor and I had to book an appointment (I guess the bloke sitting there doing nothing was too busy!)

Good on you. Don’t get forced into settling for what they want to allocate to you.

The 36mm Explorer is their best watch IMO. 🤔

The same thing happened to me!

I was in a McDonald's last month and ordered a hamburger. My sales advisor asked me if I wanted french fries, but I said no.

Then, I was trying to buy a hamburger today and again the McDonald's associate asked me if I wanted "fries with that". I wrestled with my choice but eventually declined.

What I really wanted was a green Shamrock shake. But the associate said they couldn't help me because it was October and they only make them around St. Patrick's Day in March.

These McDonald’s ADs are getting out of hand. I’ve been on the McRib waiting list for over a year now!

If you don’t want it why keep your name on the list?

·

Wait - what did you get to scratch the itch?

Got to get at least 4 Big Macs that you don’t want to even be considered for a McRib

They couldn’t change the request because they don’t have any formal process of tracking. The SA has a Rolodex of inquiries she’ll keep track of on her phone or somehow. Your SA prob did not update their records.

Stay stone and get what you feel is right

Turning down steel sports Rolex from the AD is a good way to never get offered another one... I got my Explorer 39, I requested, they called a week later, I buy instantly... then they sold me a Sub no date, and a Datejust 41 two tone... I also got a 36 Explorer two tone which is probably my favorite watch in my collection, but I got that from Watchbox for a killer deal, $1500 below MSRP and new, plus traded in a Panerai I wasn't wearing

Nope the guy could get in to my record in the system and see it. He just refused to change it.

And I can see that McFlurry machine through the window… but can I actually buy a McFlurry?! Nope. 👎🏻

I can help!

  1. Dislike Rolex (an infinite cash all powerful company that wants you to make you feel bad) …and then

  2. stop trying to buy Rolexes!

Fixes all issues with being jerked around at Rolex ADs, and you start to notice other nicer alternatives 😌

Yeah. Not practical advice I know, sorry.

But it worked for me and made me a happier person. 😎🍻👍
