Nope, I don’t like the bulk of a NATO. probably because I wear a lot of shirts so I prefer something the slides under a cuff although I do think they look cool. I also don’t wear hats, not because I don’t like them but because I just don’t suit them.
I hate NATOs. Especially the leather ones. I don’t like the extra slack, the rise of the watch off the wrist, and the lack of substance to the strap. To me they make watches look like they are boy scout standard issue items.
I get the feeling some of the folks replying are missing the word thin in your subject line. So let me dive in and say, yes, thin leather nato's are fantastic. Here in Australia, it's pretty easy to get kangaroo leather straps, and they are both SUPER thin but also extremely strong leather. Highly recommended.

I bought a leather NATO strap because it just looked cool. Then I realized that a leather NATO strap defeats the purpose of the NATO strap, which is to be a strap that can be abused: the strap can get wet, dirty, whatever. My thin leather NATO strap looks great but feels fragile. I avoid water with it (although I avoid water with my watches in general), I keep cleaning it and conditioning it when I can. I am definitely on the side of "conflicted".

I couldn’t agree more about leather NATO’s.

Always loved brushed hardware.

Glad you enjoy them though!
