Thoughts on the new Tudor black bay 58 gmt?

What are your thoughts on this year Tudor? I have been waiting for this watch since 2018 as my wrist is too small for the 41mm version 🥲

Don't know I'll buy it but I definitely like it.

That said, I'm always confused by the ever expa ding Black Bay family. At this point Black Bay feels like it's own brand irrespective of Tudor.

Yea I feel like their lineup expand too widely now. Unlike Rolex where they have their own collection like gmt and Daytona. Tudor have it like black bay, 58, gmt, pro, pelagos

Exactly. I can see the difference between the pro and GMT or the Pelagos and BB58/54/etc but it feels like they bleed into one another much more than Rolex's lines.

Too be honest, too much color for me. They should have dropped the gilt. I find it unattractive

Yes, I can foresee in 1-2 years time they will release a black bay 58 chrono 😂

Yes, but maybe that will happen next year 😅

Very fair critique

Agree

Sadly the more Tudor releases it drifting me away from the brand. Like the new BBB it’s perfect but in 41mm! And it seems they already will keep 39mm and below with the fauxtina look. Nothing wrong with that but it’s getting too overdone 🥲

Tried it on yesterday at watches and wonders - incredible watch. Importantly not too thick. Love the bezel. Want one! If they would just offer the Jubilee bracelet too....;-)

Looks really good man!

·

Love the measurements. Unsure if I love the color scheme or want to wait to see what the release on the future.

·

Fewer lines of text on the dial is a welcome improvement. But I think they could lose “Geneve” too.

·

I just wish they colored the GMT hand. Love the new movement and can't wait to see the skinny BB Pro next year 😄. Overall 9/10 from Tudor this year.

·

😍 love it! Definitely going in the Tudor collection at my house. Solid improvements all around and I like the gilt. 10/10

·

I really like it and I like the BB line of Tudor, but I’m starting to feel like Tudor is becoming like AP where they are just the Royal Oak company and Tudor is the Black Bay company.

I like it, but I doubt I’ll buy it, but it’s nice.

·

Its a miss IMO. The gmt hand kind of bothers me and i dont like the coke with the gold touch. Also the phaux patina on the bezel kind of turn me off. But these picture look better than the press pictures to me

·

Love it though I’ll likely wait to get a “modern” version without the gilt.

·

Honestly I like this more than any of the Rolex releases this year.

·

I’m liking that one a lot I have an 8 inch wrist and the 41 mm gmt I had felt absolutely massive on my wrist and I wear a 50mm tuna often enough that big watches don’t normally bother me . And the 58 has always been too small for me. I’m going to try one on and see because this one looks really nice to me and if it feels bigger than a normal 58 it could be a contender. It’s a handsome watch

How much thicker on wrist does it feel than the BB58? Is it negligible or do you notice it?

It is officially 0.1mm thicker. On the wrist, especially given that it's sporting 2 more complications it wears really streamline and comfy. The tone of the numerals on the bezel is esp. nice - oozes vintage warmth and charm. I think it wears better than the BB58...

·

It’s great looking! I already have a total crush on the two Pepsi bezels and they fit great on me. Well see if this fits better but honestly I’m just hoping this drives the price on the 41mm down in the used market. The T-Fit clasp is its secret weapon though.

·

Can I get the rubber strap for my normal 58? Anyone know?

·

Like it but wish the bezel numbers weren’t gilt

·

I have to see it in person. I’m not sure I like the gilt on the bezel

Glad to hear it. I’ll be trying to get one as long as the wait list isn’t to cray 😎
