I work at an upscale hotel and I see a few nice watches a day. I used to approach most people wearing a nice watch but now I’m a little more selective to avoid the awkward exchange.
Although now most people I approach or am approached by (I’m usually wearing my Pelagos39) are genuinely interested in watches which makes for a nice conversation once or twice a day.
This guy had a cool story about this gmt. It was his fathers or grandfathers and aged really well over time. Super clean example definitely a grail in my opinion. Easily one of the coolest/unique watches I’ve at work so far.
I own the p39 I love it. Great daily watch, lightweight, and I absolutely love all the nods to past models. Chamfered lugs, snowflake indices, pointed crown guards, red text. Also no faux rivets lol. (Everyone’s favorite thing to complain about when it comes to Tudor models.) jokes aside the 54 is also great tried it on in the boutique and it’s amazingly thin! And honestly don’t the rivets are even there lolol
Also forgot to mention the p39 has a lumed bezel!!!
Just got my pelagos 39 early this month and I absolutely love it. Lots of cool nods to past Tudor/Rolex models. It’s since eased my obsession over the submariner. Can’t wait for it to come in different colors.
My grail is an AP ultra thin perpetual calendar. For me it’s the complication + how insanely thin the watch is. So cool imo.
