This is my beloved Glashutte Original SeaQ. My only gripe is how only difficult the bracelet is to change. The lug holes are so close to the top of the case it slips through so incredibly which unfortunately damage the case!
Beautiful watch. This is probably my biggest gripe with watches in general, that changing bracelets/straps should be very easy on all watches. It's criminal that the majority of luxury watches do not have a quick release system. Yet you can buy $20 replacements straps that do. I just don't understand it.

Agreed and this isn't my first rodeo. I have all the kit burgeon tweezers. I've owned a fair amount of watches and never had this kind of damage on one before.
IWC, JLC, longines and vacheron constantin are all doing quick release. It should be common practice!
That really sucks. I’ve had minor damage to the underside where the spring bar has to slide in, but never like this. Bummer my friend. Amazingly beautiful watch though 👍
I jacked up the underside of the lugs on an old BB36 as the tolerances were unbelievably tight. If I ever own it again, I’ll be getting spring bar tweezers.

I've bought a tool to cut out a slot for QR bars on my existing straps. I've still not got round to using it but I'm looking forward to no more old style bars.
Put down a bunch of masking or painters tape around it! I’ve scratched a caseback from trying to undo it with scissors but some masking tape greatly reduces the chances of that scratching happening

Doesn't stop this damage unfortunately as the spring bar comes from underneath it.

Yeah, my solid end link watches are a pain to reinstall bracelets on.

Love the seaQ with that big date 👌🏻

I have tweezers and this still happened!
What a stunning watch. Painful to damage it. Yes, they should make them easier to change the bracelets.

It's just a shame we can't do it to bracelets.
Hurts, especially since the damage is not on inner side. Great watch nevertheless

You know OP, I'd be happy to take that bracelet off your hands and help you out with your problem. 😂

Really?! Wow. I guess that’s the price we pay for tight tolerances and a DIY mentality lol
So the trick is:
lay the bracelet flat on a table (ideally on a soft cloth)
use the fancy tweezers to squeeze the springbar, pinning the bracelet to the table
with your other hand, take the watch case and guide it onto the bracelet
release tweezers
tldr: mount the watch onto the bracelet, not the bracelet onto the watch
