MIDO Ocean Star Tribute

My first dive watch is a MIDO Ocean Star Tribute. I bought it in Germany as MIDO doesn't have a great dealer network in the UK.

Nice, comfortable watch. Very Stiff Bezel!!!

Picture taken on London Bridge commute. Ckearly need to work on my phone photography skills.

Nice watch mate. Mido are very underrated and don’t get enough love.

·

There is nothing like a romantic stroll over the London bridge together with the love of his life. 👨❤⌚

·

Looks cool :) maybe I am just biosed as a german?! Who knows ^^

·

The Ocean Star line is great looking with great movements. I have never liked how Swatch makes it difficult to buy Mido in half of the world.

·

Mazel tov on the new watch and great shot!

·

Nice watch!  Never seen a Mido in the metal but they've got some good looking models.  Nice view too...been about 20 years since I was last in London Town!

·

Nice. Mido doesn’t have much of a dealer network in the US either. They do make a nice watch (I had to order my 200C). Congrats.

·

Awesome! Really like the look of this watch, that blue dial and orange second hand are a killer combination🤙

·

Mido's largest market is Latin American. I believe that they may be the best selling watch brand in Mexico. That is an large market.

·

I have read that it is a consequence of the name, which translates to "I measure" in Spanish. The decision to market it to the Spanish speaking world was made by the Swatch Group. When it was independent they were readily available in Europe and the United States.

·

MIDO is another of those brands, like Longines, that frequently gets overlooked.

·

I have the blue Mido Ocean Star GMT. In my mind, an absolutely great watch and brand.

·

Awesome looking GMT, I'm a fan of MIDO but just wish they had more accessibility in the US + smaller case/lug-to-lug sizing.

·

Mido mostly sell to the South American and the Chinese markets, by this I mean markets with large Chinese diaspora.

So yeah, for Americans to see a Mido, try going south of the border or China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the South East Asian countries.

Love it. I'm so close to pulling the trigger on one but I never buy a watch I can't try on, and I can't find a place to try it on in the US. My one concern is the printed indices. How do they look? Do they make it feel less like the luxury watch it is? Love the orange seconds hand...
