I really like the GW-5000 particularly because it has the same case design as the original G-Shocks. But I would be just as happy with the GWM5610. It is a quality G-Shock as well and I believe either one will serve you well. I was planning on purchasing the GWM5610 when I came across a good deal on a used GW-5000 and went with that one instead.
I like Casio G-Shocks. They won’t win any fashion awards and they are mass produced plastic and rubber with a stamped stainless steel wafer backplate but they just work and they work very accurately.
I love the analog Timex quartz watches (Weekender) except for the fact that they use plated brass cases. Every single one I owned would pit and peel the plating leaving rough jagged edges. 15 years ago I switched to brands that use stainless steel cases and haven’t looked back since.
I bought the same exact model again of the Casio G-Shock GD-350-1 when the first one was misplaced by my child. I love the display on that model and the appearance of the red stripe across the center of the screen when you activate the backlight.
2 weeks ago I bought this Casio G-Shock GW-M500A at our local Walmart for $22 after seeing a Greg Anderson youtube video saying they were being sold really cheap. The sticker still read $89 but rang up at the lower price.
