Decisions! If you could only have one?

Hi all I currently own the green OP 41mm, which I do love! However, out of my current collection, it's the only one I would consider letting go of, especially as I wouldn't lose any money on it. I've always loved the Santos de Cartier, due to it's heritage and the fact it's so different. I'm considering (for a while) pulling the trigger on the Santos (medium) in either blue or green. Would you sell the OP to fund the Santos? If so, blue or green in the Santos?

Why are you considering selling it?

·

To fund the Santos. I could wait and save a little. I have other Rolex and the Santos is so different.

·

Would you sell the OP to fund the Santos?

No. But I am very biased against the latter.

·

I would keep both. I did trade an explorer 39mm for a santos large. My reasoning being I like my Green OP better and really love the Design language on the santos. But on a retained value aspect, that’s not something I would do. Now sell the OP to fund a Daytona is a different story.

Your OP is lovely but I know you are so into the Santos but I would say you have to have both my friend🤔😁

·

Not big on the colored Santos dials.

·

I love the Reverso, but ridiculously overpriced now! I did get the OP at retail and I do love it when I sport it.

I may just have to pull the trigger on the Santos anyhow. I need to go and try it again. I fell in love with it a while ago, but opted for the GS White Birch Spring Drive instead at the time.

I may change my mind and buy something different when the time comes 🤣

Yeah, I may just keep the OP and buy the Santos 🤣

Thanks buddy. I think you maybe right.........

The first luxury watch I bought was a Santos, back in 1998. It's a watch I had always dreamt of owning. A few years ago I sold it & then regretted it & bought a Santos 100, which has compensated a bit for my original stupidity.

TBH the new Cartier Santos, for me, has lost some of it's appeal. I really don't like how big they have got & I'm not wild on their coloured dials.

The OP you have is gorgeous, a beautiful design & very understated. It's a really cool watch. I have the silver dial & despite it's under the radar appearance it's probably my favourite watch out of 30. I wouldn't be adding a Santos green dial when you've got the OP. I think I'd be looking for something a bit different.

It would probably be the blue in the medium. I don't like the large.

Thanks for the insight watch friend 👌

I think the blue is the better option. What's not to love about wearing a Santos blue dial?

Two beautiful watches to have the choice of wearing, both are beautiful designs, classics & in my opinion, very classy. Neither say the person wearing it is desperate to appear as though they're loaded, more a person of good taste.

Difficult difficult. If it were me I'd prefer the Santos in a traditional white whilst the OP is more colour friendly..but you can't go wrong

·

I would take b. I like the op but prefer the fluted bezel. Haha but let's be honest I probably will never spend that much on a watch as long as harley davidsons exist they take up most of my fun money.

·

I would go with the blue. I am not qualified to make any judgement on the Rolex, since I am the only person on the planet, apparently, who does not like Rolex's.

·

I would sell the blue, become a green face collector, make it your trademark of sorts.

·

I would keep the OP41. Look into how many were made. My Turquoise OP41 skyrocketed in value because of rarity.

·

OP41 is abit too big for a 6.75 inch wrist. This is just my opinion.

If you like the Santos Medium, go for it. It’ll probably fit you better.

I have 6.75 - 7 inch wrist. Fits well I think.

I've got 38mm - 43mm. As long as the lug to lug are below 50mm I'm good to go.

I just don’t feel the Cartiers. Can’t figure out quite why. Definitely keep the OP.
