My dad's watch

Today I'm wearing my dad's Citizen ana-Digi-temp from the 80s. This is a special watch for me. I grew up watching my dad wear this fantastic piece. I was always amazed by all the buttons, the analog and digital dials, and all the functions it has.

By the time my dad past away this watch was in bad condition. The strap was lost, the battery inside had exploded and the watch was. of course, not working. Recently I took on the task to restore it to its former glory. A good friend of mine helped me and here it is! Better than never.

As an engineer I think this watch is very appropriate haha I wear it on important days at the office. This is by far my favorite watch in my collection.

Wow!  What a watch.  Good job on the refurb, you must be very proud, it's lovely.😀👍

Looks awsome 😍

I have a similar one, but only in silver.

My dad also had one like it. Unfortunately the lower temp display is not working.

where did you acquire the parts?

Oh, the silver is beautiful!! I got them on eBay, I bought the same citizen (but a non-working one)  and took the parts that I needed :)

Strong work!!

A friend of mine has the same watch and he's thinking of restoring his too. I would tell him to record the process!

·

yep, I saw it too. Beautiful watches, they had silver, gold, and even a black version! but expensive, there are also Starwars versions of these watches but I think those are sold out and the ones on sale are much more expensive.

·

Very unique choice from the 80s. Kinda looks like c3po from starwars

·

Wonderful memory! Those types of watches are priceless! I too have numerous family watches and the memories they carry.

Also that's a great digital you have there!

Enjoy the watch!

Cheers!

How does the temperature aspect of the watch work?  Does it tell the environmental temperature, or does it indicate whether you are feverish?

Very awesome 👌

I read that if you wanna get a better read of the environmental temperature you have to take the watch off and let it cool for a bit, otherwise the measure will be influenced by your body temperature.

However, I tried a couple of times but the read is not accurate hehe either off or on my wrist.

Also, the watch has a function that shows you the current temperature and also the temperature registered in the morning. It's pretty cool :)

Oww thats why i think i saw it before but forget there is such a c3p0 model. I like c3p0 version the most 😁

·

cool watch with family history. A treasure both worthless and priceless at the same time. Looking at a family heirloom brings flashbacks of the original owner and therefore comfort.

·

Your dad is cool!! What an awesome choice.

·

That is wonderful! A very inspiring story.

·

Nice! I have one of these (working with active lume) to sell if anyone is interested—just send me a DM.

This watch is cool! The fact that it's your dad's is super cool!. Worthy of its own box, I love that you took the time time to restore it. Love to hear the back story on that
