CWC G10: Quartz or Automatic?
I can’t make up my mind between a Quartz or Automatic CWC. I love the simplicity of the quartz in theory, but I so seldom actually wear my one quartz watch (an old Victorinix Chrono).

If price is no object (if it is save for the one you really want) it really comes down to one question.
Will you wear it?
Will you wear the quartz enough to justify it? Same question goes for the automatic. Maybe this is the quartz you’ll wear a lot?
Personally I’d be leaning quartz
I feel a field watch should be quartz. Tough and accurate, traits a field watch should have, imo. You can't go wrong with either so get what hits for you.
I have the quartz and it is uncannily accurate. No need to set it except for DST changes.
If your not wearing the VIC because it’s quartz then your answer should be clear.
I say buy what moves you to wear then make memories with it.
You seldom wear a watch. If you take the automatic, because of the power reserve(40hr?) each time you wish to wear it, you will have to adjust the time. If you take the quartz, most of the time, it will be fine, until it runs out of batteries.
Personally, I do own 6 quartz watches, there's always at least one that runs out of batteries. I did buy myself some watch tools and bunch of batteries only for that. Before, I had to go to a watch store to ask to change batteries in my watches, and it started to really annoy me and cost me some money.
Since you only own another watch, let your wallet decide. The only advantage you'll get from an automatic is the 28000 bph compared to the 3600 bph from a quartz.
G10 and ESPECIALLY CWC G10 = Quartz. My .02¢, YMMV.
Same could be said for the Navigator for marathon, quartz. (I believe only the OG Gallet/Adanac's were auto)

Issued G10s were quartz
I like the quartz models from CWC, most of the watches that they made or do make for the British armed forces, are quartz. So in the case of CWC I'll usually opt for the quartz movements.
