I’m the opposite; I bought a SKX013 back in 2015. At the time I thought I just needed one. Thought the bracelet was crap, the movement was crap, power reserve was crap, accuracy was crap … All of those things are true. It is a POS. But it is my favorite POS I’ve ever owned, and the only POS in my collection.
I can understand your lack of emotional attachment, but for me that’s exactly the charm of the watch.
The proportions are perfect. The fit and weight are perfect. The jingly-jangly folded-link jubilee bracelet catches and casts the light in a way that no over-produced “upgrade” premium bracelet can replicate.
It fits every outfit I’ve ever matched it to, from tank top to tuxedo.
For all the wrong reasons I absolutely love it.
But that’s just me.
Did you buy it new?
My motto is (usually) “Buy preowned. Let someone else eat the depreciation.”
Unless it’s a sub-$200 watch, or if I KNOW I won’t sell it.
I’ve never MADE money from watches, and consider losses just part of the cost of the collecting hobby landscape.
Look great! Poor quality for the most part. The numbers rub off the bezel, easy to short out when changing the battery, seconds hand doesn’t line up, date wheel has a mind of its own…
I’ve owned 4 and still wear one to bed all the time.
