How to get a Snoopy

Hello! I wanna buy my first speedmaster. I know it's a little bit much for the first time, but I fell in love with the Snoopy. I know there is a long waiting time, but I can wait 2-3 year's if I get one for sure. My question is: are the omega waiting lists real or is everything a big Show like in Rolex Stores.

Thanks for helping ๐Ÿ˜

I donโ€™t know the answer, but good luck.

ยท

I think for this model the wait is legitimate. Iโ€™d visit with smaller ADs as the Omega Boutiques are less likely to source one for you. Good luck!

ยท

5 year wait and they are only available from Omega Boutiques

ยท

Any watch with Snoopy on is a winner in my eyes.

ยท

I donโ€™t really know, but best of luck to you!!!

ยท

If you do not want to play the waiting game there are quite a few available on Chrono24. More than double the list price though.

ยท

Many waiting lists are silly. It's a nice way of asking you to leave. It probably depends on the shop more than anything.

I have asked on two different occasions at two different stores to be informed (register of interest) for when the Pelagos 39 and Breitling Chronomat GMT in white come in. Since then I have seen these in the display cases for sale at those very stores but nobody ever bothered to ring me when they came in ๐Ÿ˜„ In one of the stores I am an existing customer with a spending history.

Even if you are willing to look until you find someone who is willing to put your name in a database and actually call you once they get one (which in itself is unlikely), chances are not exactly low that the watch will be discontinued before that happens. Prices on these have been coming down I believe, I'd say low-balling dealers has a much greater chance of success here ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'm on a list, but really don't expect one. My AD has not even seen one yet since the release!

I wouldnโ€™t get your hopes up too much. By all means if you have an Omega boutique near you register your interest. Chances of getting one at this stage are pretty slim. Watch was announced in 2020 and there is going to be a long line of folks in front already. Plus the watch was announced as not limited by number, but will have a limited production lifespan. Even allowing for pandemic production delays, best case they continue to make them into next year if we are lucky.

I donโ€™t have an Omega Boutique near me, but have registered by interest in a multi brand store that is an Omega AD. Any staff who I have talked to have never seen one delivered.

My plan is to get on board earlier if there is a 55th anniversary watch released in 2025.

Good luck with your endeavours. It seems to be a special watch alright. Maddening that so many available on the grey market and even though prices have reduced a lot since the great spike of April 2022, prices are still nuts.

After a visit upon buying Aquaterra in Omega butique I briefly mentioned what are the options to get one of these, no waiting time concerns. It felt like I was at another brand AD ( ๐Ÿ‘‘ ) as she almost started laughting before explaining they never saw one in flesh and I have 0 chance of getting one. It is not limited but so low production volume that getting one is a lottery winning event. Good luck should you decide to put your name on "the list"

ยท

The reality is when a boutique gets one, they just go down the real list. This list is based on total lifetime spend. So if you have never bought a watch you are behind everyone else who has. Figure a minimum 50k spend gets you a shot. Looking for an Ed White? Double that. Doesnโ€™t mean you wonโ€™t get lucky and Iโ€™m sure there have been exceptions, but this is really the truth.

When I think an AD made me try it on when it came out and I wasn't wrapped up in the strap. My fingers are still dead !!

ยท

A few years back, a pal of mine was hungover, and visited the Rolex AD in Heathrow Airport (in the UK). He was wearing his Explorer II and got talking to the staff about Rolex models in detail (enthusiast/geek). He asked if there was anything for sale, and walked out with a new Submariner. His girlfriend was livid ๐Ÿ˜‚

ยท

Put some petrol in your car, get an Omega on your wrist, and start visiting some ADs!!

ยท
ยท

if you want it now, it's very simple, pre-owned ๐Ÿ˜Ž

But you're gonna need extra ๐Ÿ’ธ

ยท

I put my name on the "wait list" the day after the watch was announced. I think that was October of 2020. I still haven't gotten the call. But when I go in, I ask if I am still on the list and they confirm that I am (without showing me said list, mind you).

I'm never getting that watch. But I also have no buying history with that boutique, so your mileage may vary.

ยท

I've heard that these are very rare! The Omega store near me said that they won't be allocated any for at least a year! Good luck buddy!

When they were initially announced, my local AD had apparently ordered 10 from Omega, and had been expecting delivery within a few months. I put down my deposit to secure one of those 10 slots, and now, almost 2.5 years later, they still have not received any. The wait has been extremely frustrating, and has soured my opinion of Omega as a brand.

ยท

These arenโ€™t watches for real people to buy and wear. They were always intended to be unobtainable for all but a select few.

Itโ€™s Omegaโ€™s superficial and blatantly transparent attempt to create artificial scarcity in a desperate attempt to mimic the real success of Rolex in the market.

ยท

Go to chrono24. There are many of them there listed by reputable watch dealers all over the world. You will pay over retail, but you will get it now, and not have to wait years and possible price increases. It may be cheaper that way rather than on the waiting list.

I was in the Omega boutique in Las Vegas (in the Bellagio) this past weekend (April 29-30) and I was trying on some watches. I have an Aqua Terra and was wearing it at the time, so the salesperson knew I liked Omega and would potentially be a customer. I first asked about the green Seamaster Professional 300. I might have bought that watch had they had it, but she said she sold the only one they had the night before. Timing is everything, right?

I then asked if she had ever seen a Snoopy in the boutique. "Oh no." she said. "I've never seen one. That said, they only go to our VIP clientele and those get personally delivered. They don't even make it into the store. So I've never seen one." To which I responded, "What do you need to be a VIP customer here?" She said "Spend $100,000.", to which I replied, "Annually, or cumulatively over your entire shopping history with the store?" and she said, "The latter". I thanked her for her honesty and walked out without buying anything. I considered the white dial Seamaster (still want the green) and the Terra Cotta Aqua Terra (yes, they had one, but I didn't like it in person. Not enough red, too much orange hue to the dial).

So, there you have it. In order to get a Snoopy, you have to spend $100K with the same boutique over your lifetime shopping at that location.

I have had the same experience with slight differences. I visited the Omega boutique in Singapore and was told they could put me on the list but with no purchase history, the likelihood of ever being called was close to none. So she tried to sell me on starting a purchase history- I didn't purchase straight away but a couple of months later left with a blue Seamaster 300. Only then was I informed of the cumulative spend of abt 60-80k to up my chances of being allotted a Snoopy. It's been 18 mths and I'm quite sure I might never get the call.
