I discovered textured dials with the Spinnaker Hull Volcanic Black and it's California dial ๐
My wife's LIP. A vintage watch made circa 1952 with a R25 chronometer movement in a 18-carat gold case and an unbreakable mainspring made with Elgin (thus the Elgiloy mention on the dial). We found it here in France in a flee market for 5โฌ ๐ They surely did not know what they were selling!
I also did some "watch building" out of parts from AliExpress:
The dial colour was not the one I thought it would be, but all-in-all it's not too bad for my first mechanical pilot-ish home made watch ๐ There is a clone of eta6497 inside, the st3600 from seagull. Quite accurate out of the box.
I'm currently considering building a bronze diver because I can't find something in my budget.
