Everyday Chronograph Suggestions

What chronograph would you recommend for everyday use? I don’t need a Tachymeter and I don’t need it to run for extremely long periods of time. What I do need is to be able to read it without using a magnifying glass!

If I had the juice, I’d have an Omega Speedy as my everyday chronograph. Until then, my only chronograph is a Dan Henry 1964.

Sorry here’s my recommendation if I were looking for a Chronograph right now. Seiko Speedtimer

G-Shock 5610 is much better/easier than any mechanical. And I own two lovely mechanical chronos.

Depending on the style of the watch you're looking for you can also go, on the affordable side of the spectrum, for a seagull 1963

The Seiko speedtimer looks great and for reasons I can’t understand it’s really got me wanting one. The Bulova Lunar Pilot is nice and the new smaller sizes look great but are so much more expensive than I’d want for a quartz Bulova. I also like some of the cheaper mechanical ones like Lorier’s or even Studio Underdog I just don’t know how much I trust a cheaper chrono movement. There’s a mountain of Speedmaster and Daytona knock offs for sure. Don’t forget those cool Brew chronographs. Brew has an instantly recognizable design that’s just special looking.

Honestly, my money is on hunting a used 39mm speedtimer from Seiko on eBay though I plan on waiting a few months.

Not familiar with some of those brands, looks like I got some Googling to do!

Hope it’s helpful and I look forward to seeing what you pick. I’m really thinking the same way about a chronograph lately, which is weird for me, and also leaning towards the Seiko.

WOW I really like the Studio Underdog Go0fy Panda, but they are all sold out and from what I saw on eBay they are going for roughly double what their site has listed. Seagull 1963 caught me eye too.

Can’t do the Seiko! There is just something about the date being at the 4:30 position I just don’t like (feel like I am in the minority). Same thing when I see the crown there too.

I just got the Le Jour Rally Monte Carlo

They do a few different colourways if this one doesn’t grab you.

I think just try and get on the list for Underdog and I’m sure eventually they’ll have them back.
