Ginault makes great watches. Wore my Ocean Rover to work last week. A coworker noticed it one morning and commented on it (he usually wears either a TAG Heuer or a Tudor BB58). I showed him the watch and told him a little about it and the brand. Later that afternoon he saw me again and told me I was a bad influence...he'd put a deposit down on an Ocean Rover II blue bezel the same day!
Your review..can't be more onpoint.. I've had my Silent Service for a month now, salty ocean prettyich everyday, +1 sec a day, bezel is ridiculously good, I have zero complaints about it.
I couldn’t of said this better. I agreed with this 1000%. I am in the same boat your are in. I wear this a lot more than I do my Tudor or Omega. It’s a damn good watch for the money. I have the Ocean Rover Version 1. 👊🏻

Ha, this is the second time this watch has come up in a thread today, and I'll pose the same question - did they ever get to the bottom of the maker, allegedly, using parts from a known Rolex counterfeiter to make them? The topic was all the rate 2-3 years back on forums like 'watchuseek'.
This is the sub-a-like I regularly actually want more than an actual sub. Still out of my range, but it has ditched all the things I don’t like in the base design from the fifties, and added everything I do like. Even the name is cooler.
(It’s not even a sub a like. The dial is more vintage SMP for a start.)
I just went back and re-read the investigative report. It was about both the guy who runs Ginault AND a second guy who - allegedly - makes counterfeit Rolex parts, working together. Two guys.
I'm confused... you're replying like I've said something prescriptive to you like, "Go and hit that thing with a hammer!" For the record, I've done nothing of the sort. I simply asked a question in the first instance as this reminded me of something I remembered from a few years back... your recollection differed to mine, so I re-read the account again and commented on that. How accurate is the report I read? Don't know; seemed well researched. You'll keep wearing the watch? Good for you; doesn't matter to me if you do or not. I feel like this has become a whole thing - and you're not even the OP who I was technically responding to when I made my first reply, but you sort of dived in and started coming at me about it. So... yeah. Confused.

How would you rate the build quality? On par with other watches in the price range?
I have this same watch. Love it. Very underrated brand.
How would you rate the build quality? On par with other watches in the price range?
It beats my Black Bay 54 build quality easily.

What’s the connection to submariners? Any additional info on the watch specs? Hard to understand the Tudor comp w/o it.
That watch is on my short list for my next bigger watch purchase
Just checked out the specs. Christopher Ward gives you a superior build for the price.

There’s comparisons on YouTube of this, Monta, and CW, and this often comes out on top.
Thanks. I’ll check the reviews out. Love a good micro/independent diver.

I like the concept there. Hand finishing with a very reasonable price. Very tempted if I liked divers.

Really?! How so?
