“Just get a Sub bro”
Photo from last year, when I had 3 very similar divers.
Currently still own and enjoy the Ginault and Monta. Both swing well above their price tag, especially the Silent Service.
Although it was technically the best and easily the most wearable, I let go of the Pelagos 39 because it felt boring to wear. I didn’t get excited to wear it, so it moved on. If I didn’t have options like I do, I think the Pelagos 39 would make an excellent 1 watch collection.
The Pelagos FXD excites me more. It’s a true tool watch. I can absolutely see myself adding one, maybe in blue, to the collection before end of year. It’s either that or a green SMP300. What do you all think?

I like both watches a lot. Waiting for Omega to update the bracelet before I buy one. I'd be mad if I got one and then they came out with an awesome updated one.
My upgrade choice is the Omega in Seaweed (from a Tag Heuer Aquaracer in green & titanium).

I tried on the Pelagos 39 and found it cool but totally quirkless and soulless. Another one of the many tool watches that look like they were designed by an AI scrape of enthusiast comment threads that fall into the category of “Great…but so what?”
Ginault makes a great watch, and there is a great story of intrigue to go along with it. There are the purists who attack the brand because of the fact that the founder may have allegedly involved in super-clones before founding Ginault- but even it true (...probably true) you can't blame a guy for trying to go legit. I mean, its not like the Swiss ever did anything wrong in the past and expect the world to forget about it... no wait...nevermind.
The quality, fit and finish of a Ginault holds it own against all comers. One day I will pick the watch you own, and will love it.

Not impressed by Tudor. I can speak to the Seamaster and it's a fantastic watch. However, ultimately the watch you get should be one you love regardless of what I or anyone says.....

And yeah, controversial brand for sure. I think all the big brands have plenty of covered up dirt that is overlooked by most customers. The Oceanrover is absolutely a homage, but the Silent Service stands on its own (imo).

I’m a Monta owner, absolutely love my OceanKing and noble! I also own a Pelagos 42 in blue and a seaweeed seamaster. All of them are incredible watches for sure!! The black FXD has been on my mind like crazy. Love the look, fixed bars, and true tool mate of it. We shall see!

I have SMP300 seaweed and I love it.
But if you are after true tool watch feeling, I’m not sure if you get it from seaweed.
I know it can take beating but I feel I need to baby it.
While my Explorer 2 and Sinn EZM3 accompany me in the mountains, the seaweed stays in the cities😅
FXD is a tough watch 🔥 that maybe the way. Plus you’ll be a little more familiar with the construction, I imagine
