The seconds hand is blackened so as to draw attention to the shark.  If you need to see the seconds hand, tilt the watch and it is there.

Got the watch in the mail. It looks excellent. Everything lines up. Good bezel action.  Love the rubber strap. The lume isn't Seiko, but everything else is excellent.
