New SuperOcean - 100% reversal

I got a chance to see the new SuperOceans today.  In the photos I saw, I wasn’t all that interested.  On my wrist, I love it.  Especially the blue.  It’s so comfortable and so bright.

I was just coming around to the idea of picking up the old SuperOcean when they cancelled it.  They still had an old SuperOcean alongside the new version and I strongly prefer the new model.

Plus… it’s a no-date.  Winning.

Edit - P.S.  I never even noticed the minute hand on my wrist until my sales guy mentioned it.  Honestly, I think it’s fine.

I think what Breitling is doing with this line is to brings back some of the historic features, in this case the hour hand in particular.  I noticed this historic design language in the Navitimer line as well, not a bad idea.  Breitling has had more than one historic rockin watch.

I'm firmly still on the fence, however, doesn't  matter because I'm not planning to buy.  Which is why I am not going to the local AD to look at it either, lol.

I was sold right away.  Ordered mine the day after the release.  Glad to see you had a change of heart after seeing it in person.

·

Aesthetically it’s almost spot on, the movement is lacking therefore it’s a pass for me.

·

I'm not usually a Breitling fan but they did these right. I originally thought the double blue looked best, but after looking at them, all three are winners!

Can you elaborate on the reasons  you prefer the new model over the new?

I am a fan of the old Superocean. But I haven’t handled the new ones yet.

The old model seemed to me more of a tool watch diver.  A quite comfortable watch but not too concerned with style.

The new model throws out this toolish past.  It’s bright.  It’s shiny.  It’s slimmer and even more comfortable to me.

They seem so different that it’s hard to imagine that one is the replacement for the other.  They could have been separate models co-existing side by side.

I like it more every time I look at it, especially the weird hand.

I'm not a buyer at that price, but I'd be intrigued by the blue 42 or the orange 36 at 50% off.

·

I’m glad you liked it. All 3 are nice. I picked the green as I wanted some green dials in my collection.

·

That orange one looks amazing.

The Kelly Slater LE is the one for me.

I didn’t even know they got married.

I have the same opinion about the movement. The price simply does not match what the watch offers. I'm a complete sucker for movements. If the movement is "meh", I won't buy the watch. Here you get a polished off-the-shelf Sellita movement with laughable 38 hours of power reserve. Excuse me Breitling but what? If it was a 3.000€ watch it would've been fine, but on the steel bracelet it costs close to 5.000€ MSRP. A clear "NO" form me here.
