I just picked up my Day Date Homage from service. Its ETA 955.132 movement (also found in watches like the Hamilton Khaki Field and Scuba King Quartz) had to be replaced; plus it got new gaskets, had an electronic and pressure test, and the case was cleaned. I earned this when I became a member of Shane Co. President's Club Fiscal Year 1997 for selling about $900,000 in jewelry and diamonds. Since then, it holds a lot of personal value and I continue to wear it with great pride. These were only given to a handful of people over about a four year period, so the watch branding itself is quite a rarity (as Shane Co. didn't sell watches). Time dictates my linear path to its bitter end. My watches keep me one step ahead of time…and one foot out of the grave.

I received the OEM bracelet for it the following year when I graduated with my Master of Laws.

Here's a little fact: Shane Co. flew my wife and me, as well as the other top sales people from the other stores, to Maui and booked us at the Grand Wailea Resort. One night all the big wigs were there and hosted a big party. My district manager and his wife, my wife and I, and Tom Shane and his wife shared a hot tub. Of course we had all imbibed. It's so funny to have that memory every time I hear the pervasive radio ads to this day!

This Speedmaster was my reward 4 years ago for a very significant promotion.

I shouldn’t undersell the pin. It’s gold (ish), has the number 20, and you can afix it to your scrubs or shirt.
Box says made in China.. but maybe pin itself came from a workshop in Geneva? 🤔

I bought this new in 2014 after I retired, it gave me a real sense of the end of a career, and the start of a new direction in life. I also thought it may curb my addiction to buying watches…….. didn’t work on that front I’m afraid

2017 was a great year so I gifted this to myself for Christmas. It was just before the Rolex craze started, looking back I should have been more generous and bought the Daytona that was in the case. I rarely wear this one now but it’s always on wrist for those “big days’. I’ll pass it along to my three year old grand daughter one day.
