Does Social Demography impact your choice of watch design?

I live under the umbrella (whether fashioned from truth or fallacy) that one’s watch — whatever its size, color and design — is protected by an armor of eclecticism. Especially if the watch above in question enhances the age spots on my arm.

Image

After all…watches are like birds, fish and insects —so many colors and designs that it’s unimaginal to judge one’s contribution to our ecosystem by whether their feathers may be frilly…or facial markings brightly-colored.

Image

A big bruin can be a frightening sight…especially if it’s reared-up and groaning just feet in front of you. But on the wrist…well perhaps it just wants you to feel robust and confident.

Should we judge really…if someone is wearing a Cartier while river rafting…or a posh soul who’s wearing an F-91W while accepting a Golden Globe?

Temptation is always there to judge a book by its cover. Can we not refrain from doing so when it comes to our design choice of watch we may decide to don for the day?

We should not judge what a person wears, regardless to their station in life. I am sure we all do subconsciously but on WC I don't, or try not to. I do see people following the crowd as some very expensive watches pop up on WC by the hour. This is usually the same 2 or 3 watches that don't interest me, but hey not my watch so who cares. I pass by those posts. But wear what you like in health and happiness as if it makes you feel good that is all that matters.

I like watches.

I see, I judge. I'm seen, I'm judged. If one puts themselves out there, it's just part of the social contract.

I agree. One’s choice of design on his wrist is a liberty the global collective has more freedom to enjoy…not stifled by geo-politics that runneth over the stream of permanence. Though I am often confused why the most expensive watches on WC also seem to be some of the dullest-looking.

Too clever for my simple brain (joking)😂

It is a stalwart quality I have learned (over the months) you possess — unapolgetic resolve in timeless simplicity and candor.

We all judge. It's human nature.

The bartender at my local bar seems nice but I really wanna help his watch game lol. He wears one of those big Invictaz, but I’m thinking about subtly nudging him to something similar but much better quality; probably Victorinox.

A fine Swiss brand.

I'm a curmudgeon, so I kind of dare people to do it, because I'm kind of an a-hole.

Evertime I give people advise on anything they usually ignore it 😂

The only people I judge negatively for their watch are those who spend money on Richard Mille.

My motto is.... Surprise Yourself, cause you deserve it 💯💯

That Speidel! I live in Rhode Island so I visit the flagship store maybe once a month. Love that place, horrible parking but great store.

Wear what you like. Judge or don’t. Live and let live.

But what I noticed is that that Speidel has the same hands as the Seiko I’m wearing:

We all judge what a person wears. How they look and behave. To what degree varies from person to person. We want to be judged. That's why we post our watches and opinions online.

I try not to judge the person, I might with the watch as this is a watch forum.
