An Incomparable Gift for Father’s Day! What did You Get?

I think most of us may claim our own son or daughter is the greatest thing since sliced bread. When ascertaining my own son and the positive impact he’s had in my life, even an automatic bread slicer falls short.

Image

Now…I’m not saying this because he gifted me this fantastic Treehut Zebrawood watch for Father’s Day; but, it doesn’t hurt either!

Image

According to Treehut’s website, this watch is handmade in San Francisco, CA — with its case and bracelet being genuine Zebrawood, and its dial genuine Olive Ash.

Image

Zebrawood is an exotic hardwood found in Africa that reveals an inner network of striped growth rings which produce a beautiful finish, fitting for just such a watch like this.

Image

The watch itself is light as a feather, and feels deliriously-silky while worn due to its precision-polished finish. Its case diameter is 45 mm, it is 10.5 mm thick, and is complemented by a generous 24 mm bracelet. Additionally, each link uses screws instead of push pins. The handset is powered by a quality Miyota 2035 movement…while well-matched to its Olive Ash dial for maximum visibility.

Father’s Day is typically down-played in my life. This time ‘round however…my son made it really special!

What watch did you get for Father’s Day? If not a watch, show us your tie, golf club, or new pair of socks!

I agree! You are very kind.

Many years ago I gifted my dad a Woodie Spec wooden watch. He loved every minute spent with it. I wasn't a father's day gift per se. It was just a son to father gift around July 4th weekend. (It must have been about 10 years ago because it was the first time we went to Watkins Glen for the six hour race together.)

He's not a watch guy at all. He still wore it everyday since. A few months ago, one of the lugs broke. Now he doesn't wear anything to replace it. Not that he doesn't own a watch. He has a very nice Victorinox but doesn't wear it. He told me it didn't have the same story. It felt a little sterile to him.

That being said, he received so many compliments on it. It must have been at least once a week.

Congrats on the new watch! I hope you will wear it proudly and make many memories with it.

Very nice! And perhaps it may even improve your aim.

What a great piece OP! Congratulations.

This year my I received a truly unique 1 of 1 concept piece designed and manufactured by my seven year old son. This timepiece features lugs at 3 and 6 o clock, a day complication sans date (presumably to keep the thickness down), and a custom elastic strap. It now has a permanent place in my watch box.

Oh and my wife also got me a limited edition Seiko SRPK27 Peanuts 🥰

Thank you! I'm sure he does. I love him just as much! He's the only family I have left.

A good one! I wanted 50 Watches that Changed the World" but it's out of print. Ebay copies are very expensive.
