MING 22.01 GMT GILT

Good morning falks. I know that there was some controversy surrounding this brand from the beginning. But all that aside, this brands design language and level of finishing got them so far so fast that they are as recognizable as some OG brands out there.

MING 22.01 GMT! And guess who got their hands on the Gilt variant? Yep, that's right – me! Time to dive into this bad boy, and let me tell you, the pics don't do it justice. This watch is seriously impressive.

Let's chat about the MING 22.01 GMT itself. MING decided to spice things up with an affordable dual-time-zone watch, a fresh 38mm Grade 5 titanium case, and a Sellita SW330-2 automatic movement. It's a "caller" GMT, meaning the 24-hour hand is calling the shots independently. Oh, and did I mention the variants? Kyoto's got a gray-green vibe, but I went for the Gilt – dark gold and cyan, baby! Limited to 1,000 each, making it a hot commodity.

Now, the big decision – Kyoto or Gilt? I rolled the dice with Gilt, and boy, did it pay off. The goldfish-brown tones and cyan play so well together. It's like a party on my wrist without being too in-your-face.

Unboxing this beauty in the sunshine revealed a mind-blowing effect, thanks to a flat sapphire crystal and a layered dial. The textured brass dial is a feast for the eyes, and I swear, at certain angles, it's like watching a 3D movie. And don't even get me started on the concave bezel – it's a game-changer. The polished case walks the line between sporty and elegant like a pro.

Confession time: MING 22.01 GMT won me over. The 24-hour hand might be sneaky, but that's part of the charm. It's like a treasure hunt on your wrist. Setting it? Easy peasy with the crown.

Oh, and the strap game! Medium-brown Barenia leather with that genius tuck buckle. It's a match made in watch heaven.

Wearing the MING 22.01 GMT is a vibe – classy, distinctive and with 100m water resistance, it can handle a pool party too. Despite the titanium, it's got a nice weight to it, thanks to the sapphire layers.

In a nutshell, the MING 22.01 GMT fits perfectly in my collection. It's complex, it's modern, and it's drop-dead gorgeous!

It’s the lume specifically…. But dial on this one is superb 👌🏽

That's an amazing looking watch.

Ming Thein will ride out the storm that's brewed up in one or two instances. The watches are genuinely unlike any other, and the good ones (like this) are fab.

Love Ming! Congrats!

Thank you

Thank you. When I placed the order, it sold out rapidly. Despite that, my overall experience was excellent. You might still locate one through the used market or on the grey market.

·

Nice piece, I would suffer the lack of the date (particularly on a GMT, in my opinion). But colours and design are fucking Great!

·

Love that piece. The tuck away, keeper less buckle is genius but fiddly for those of us who chew off their fingernails. BTW enjoying your photography

Thank you. This watch would not be the same with the daye. Besides no one travels without a phone these days.

It is so hard to be original in this industry and to have a distinctive design language that you own; I respect that 💪

·

Beautiful watch and beautiful shots! What's your photo set up? Proper camera and light box/covered lights with paper? Multiple light source? I need up my watch photo game.

I'm waiting on a Ming world timer. They said Q1 next year...can't wait

Oh and whats the controversy around Ming m

I’m familiar with the word timer. That is a great buy. When came out Ming had miss aligned hands due to GMT movement they used. That didn’t sit well with collectors. To do this kind of photography right now latest iPhone is enough and some knowledge of Photoshop. Images are not shot by me, they are images from their website, since used to advertise their products they are under a “fair” use so it is ok to use them.

Ah I see. I was going to say you're a pro photographer!

Of course fine to use pics from internet. We're not using it for commercial means. All good.

I’m but don’t have that much time on my hands to do these for every watch I own.
